What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from One star for the Blu-Ray player I bought this a year ago. It was the only wireless streaming box with Blu-Ray in stock at my favorite local retailer. It's the first LG product I've ever purchased, and it may well be my last. The Blu-Ray player worked fine - one star for that - but the Smart TV is by far the dumbest streaming box I've ever encountered. Couldn't connect to Wi-Fi reliably, constantly froze up requiring endless reboots, picture quality issues, etc. Thought it was our ISP - upgraded to the ISP's recommended level for streaming - no improvement. Updated the box's software - no improvement. Broke down and bought another popular streaming box and it's been a dream - plug-and-play, great quality picture, never drops Wi-Fi connection - no issues whatsoever. I can't believe we struggled an entire year with the BP550! Keeping it for use as a disc player only.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for US made Blu Ray Discs I bought this because I have some blu ray discs that were made in the UK and want to be able to play them. So far I have tried to play them and have been unable to. My British DVD's play well, so that's no problem. If there's another way to achieve it I'm willing to try, I have changed the nation of origin to UK. It's more expensive than a regular player which is why I bought this particular model.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Iffy Was anxious to get, however it continues to "freeze up" and the only way to fix is to unplug and replug and start over. Kind of a pain.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Some disappointments We've had the DVD player with Wi-Fi for about 6 months now and other than Amazon App not working hardly at all and unusable Apps. included the machine itself works just fine. Videos play on it with no problems and Netflix and VUDU Apps work well also.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Loved the features Bought this about 3.5 years ago. Never used the 3D feature and our Netflix wouldn't work on it, but YouTube, Hulu, and the DVD/Blu-ray portions worked great. About a month ago the internet, not just WIFI, so I guess the streaming stopped working. A couple days ago the DVD stopped working. Wouldn't turn off or play a movie, but the open and close still worked so I was happy I didn't lose my DVD. 3.5 years of use and we got this on sale so I am happy. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great 3D Player................ I love this player for its small size and the picture is great and I mainly bought it for the 3D picture and it delivers a great 3D picture on my 2016 E6Oled tv. Also it delivers a great DVD and BlueRay experience as well............

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Excellent for Playback, Weak for Streaming Playback of disc media including upscaling and NTSC/PALS conversion is exccellent. Streaming is poor, long time to buffer, and jittery scenes. I have high speed internet with excellent streaming on my LG Smart Tv, Apple TV, and Roku. I am on my 2nd BP550, and streaming is still slow. LG told me it is not computer, it will take awhile into the movie to adjust to my internet service. I reminded them it is a computer, and all my other, including LG, streaming devices work fine. Net, buy for playing CD, DVD, Blu-Ray and NTSC/PALS conversion, not for streaming.

The directions say to connect the HDMI cord from the player to the TV. I can’t find the cord anywhere and it did not state in the outside of the box nor in the manual that it wasn’t included. The only accessory stated that was not included was an Ethernet

Asked by: Bro08
Per the specifications: Included Accessories are Remote Control - Yes & Remote Control Batteries - Yes ^AC

Hello The apps on my player say they are out of date. I did a software update check but none available. How do you fix this?

Asked by: Gene 87
If the Apps are out of date, it is up to the manufacturer of the App to supply an update. For instances, Netflix will update Netflix and so on. ^AC
