What People Are Saying

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 164 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Blu-Ray Player I've Owned I've owned several Blu-ray players since they have hit the market, and the LG players (I own two# are the best. LG continually sends updates to the players so they play the latest discs #something Sony and Samsung stopped after about six months when their new players came out), LG upscaling truly works...hard to tell the difference between a DVD and Blu-ray and the smart apps that are built in are great since it allows you to play your streaming videos through your stereo/sound system and take advantage of your 5.1 or 7.1 sound system instead of just your tv or tv "surround sound". But truly the best of all and the main reason you buy a disc player in the first place is the fact that it plays almost any disc you put in. I've played PAL discs from England, some homemade BD, some mkv discs and DVDs, and Blu-rays from everywhere, including some region 1 and region free, and so far except for one or two damaged discs, they have all played. I've even played DVDs that wouldn't play on any other DVD player with no problems. I've owned this one for over a year now and when I decide to upgrade to a 4K player, I'll be looking for a LG one to replace this one or my other one. January 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great player, upgrades any HDTV to a "Smart TV"! This player works really well for my needs. I use it for watching Netflix and YouTube and playing video and music discs. As far as features go, I only gave this unit 4 stars because I'd like to see a "reset" button on the controls. Just like all computers, it does crash occasionally. When it does crash #which is a rare occurrence# all I need do is unplug and re-plug the power cord to reset the unit and all is fine. December 14, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quality speaks volume I've been using LG products over the years and ive never been disappointed . Reason being is that the quality spaeks volume...Ive never had a problem with this device and ive had it for a while now. I love the fact that it comes with a bluetooth connectivity, 3D capability and you also view standard DVD's in HD, how amazing is that ..LOve, love this product and still enjoying it.. Definitely recommend this product!!! October 28, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Could have been better. I expected a lot from this blu ray, but was let down at the troubles I have experienced with it. First off, the blu ray player has frozen from time to time with only the smallest doings. Entering the Netflix app, "updating and downloading" new software, attempting to connect with my laptop, etc. The device would not turn off, despite having it unplugged... The features you get are great, but greatness is only considered great if it works. September 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent 3D player I have 2 of these players and have NO problems with either one, they are a good match if you have a 3d tv and the 3D feature works really good, the player has other features but the only one i have used is the wi-fi to set this up so i can download the updates for the player. The clarity , color and crispness of the picture is great. I would recommend this player. July 6, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellence and Value Player is simple to use but gives great picture and sound. Very satisfied with this product. May 23, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Junk Don't know about everyone else who has bought this product, but it was not a positive experience for us. Junk. Never stays connected, freezes up constantly. We have to unplug it, wait, then plug in. Waste of time. May 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by THIS HAS THE BEST FEATURES I LOVE THIS PLAYER AS IT HAS MANY FEATURES AND OPTIONS.SENDS OFF THE BEST PICTURES.I RECOMMEND THIS TO THE WORLD BEST PRODUCT FOR YOU MONEY THANKS LG April 9, 2014

Answer:
I’ve latest firmware and here is the answer. You may not like it so. Yes, you can stream, but…
1. You will need DLNA player.
2. Very few formats are supported. For example I’ve a few mkv files and it cannot play any of them, but LG web site claims it can. It also cannot play DivX. At least in either case I didn’t find any one that it can play.
3. As another user answered, it cannot pause or rewind anything that it streams.
4. I’ve last year model LG BD670 and it can play and pause all files that I gave to it. It also can find and stream from shared drive – no DLNA is needed.
5. The minor advantage of BP620 is in playing VOB files. Everything else close to disaster in comparison to BD670, which is not perfect either.

Answer:
You can but you cannot Pause your movies. The player has a Great Picture and fast menus but I discovered I could not Pause any files except .mp4's.
My other player works just fine. LG has a glitch in their Firmware on these New units and only tell you that its your computer that is at Fault when the problem is the player.
So to answer your Question YES you can stream movies but enabling DLNA on y our PC does not work you have to install their unstable Nero Software. I suggest a Player that is specific to Media or a BD570 which works with DLNA or UPnP

Answer:
Just to make clear what LGJoel stated, this means that though this player does play with wireless-n; it will not communicate with your network if your network is set to 5ghz.

I found this out the hard way and it's pretty unfortunate for my home as we use the 5ghz band for our n-network. I had to buy another router just to get thing thing on my network.

Calling a product certified n but in the end it's only capable of communicating on the 2.5ghz spectrum is misleading. Users of n-networks use it for the faster speeds over g-networks; the faster speeds are only achievable in the 5ghz spectrum.

Answer:
The OPTICAL and HDMI audio signals are both digital audio signals. There is no setting available to limit the audio signal to only one audio output. It is therefore recommended, in this situation, to simply MUTE the TV if you choose to use the external speaker system.

Go to Settings and in General you will see a list like VUDO NETFLIX and some Others. When you highlight one of those and click the Center Key a dialog will ask you if you want to UN-Register.

just Say Yes then Netflix will ask you if your a Member next time you launch it

Answer:
We appreciate your interest in this BluRay player. The NETWORK menu has a section specifically for Netflix content. This allows an option to DEACTIVATE NETFLIX. Once this has been done, you can set up Netflix with your new account.

Answer:
We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this player. All that should be required, for proper operation, is some audio/video connection from the player to the television, as well as the proper input selection on the TV to match. If this does not work already, then additional information would be needed in order to determine what might be causing the problem. Please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 for assistance in this matter.
