What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from finger prints and reliability problems Our new fridge has developed a coolant leak and the compressor is overheating as a result. This in less than 8 months of ownership. Now I'm trying to get a replacement, but it's sounding like onsite repairs, including "welding"?! are the proposed fix. No way! On top of that, the constantly overheating compressor (which shuts down due to overheat) will also be compromised and will have a shorter service life, so hopefully that will be replaced when they're finished 'welding' whatever they are proposing. Wouldn't it be cheaper to replace the whole unit? The fridge has great features, the recessed handles and the door in door are great, but this reliability is the worst I've ever experienced! I've only every bought about 4 fridges because they last years (usually). Maybe mine is just a 1 in a million defect. My food in the freezer keeps thawing and re-freezing, so pretty much everything in there is spoiled, hopefully my family won't get sick. There goes hundred in food (I shouldn't shop at Whole Foods with a defective fridge!) The other complaint is minor compared to the leak and overheating... the stainless finish is not a finger print resistant one, so if you have kids and finger prints all over the door are a bother, then look for a different finish.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great machine until it wasn't Initially thrilled with this appliance. Perfect size and holds more than expected but ice machine broke within first 3 months. Good response on service and was replaced. Made one new batch of ice then nothing. Second service/repair and worked for about 3 weeks. Now waiting on 3rd service which will replace the freezer door. Support has been good but shouldn't have been needed so overall, not happy and wish I would have selected a different appliance. Feels like this is just going to keep happening until I'm out of my warranty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Looking Counter Depth! We've had this fridge for over 2 months now and love it! Our main requirement was a counter depth side by side with good reviews, and this fit the bill. Wouldn't have had to have the door-in-door, but it's a really nice feature. It's very quiet, which was another concern for us. We like that the ice and water dispensers are separate, and after the first day or two, figured how to use them without splashing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ez orginize Pro... I love the way every thing has its place and ez to get too. I keep water and juice in the out side door. Along with cheese yogurt and butter. Con... Only one thing... figure prints, with the hidden handle, I push the door closed by hand and get figure prints every where. I have to come up with a better way to close the doors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great roominess! We have had this one a little over a month and I am very pleased with it. The roominess is outstanding. The water and ice controls are easy to use.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Door in door feature more gimmick than function Refrigerator is counter depth, which we needed, but the storage configuration does not seem well planned. The smaller door in door does not have a handle, so many smudge marks from closing by hand. One shelf in the outer door is so tiny I put sticks of butter in it. The drawer space we typically use for cheese and cold cuts is very small. The refrigerator is quiet and keeps everything cold, the ice maker functions well. I just feel like the door in door feature was a not so well planned gimmick and does not make good use of storage. Also awkward if you need several items at once and have to open the small door to get some items, then close and open the full door for other items.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Purchased this refrigerator 6 weeks ago. Originally we bought a different brand refrigerator and there were issues from the minute it was setup by the delivery personnel. I received a replacement refrigerator 2 weeks later and it also had issues. I insisted that it be taken out. I got my money back. bought the LG refrigerator and have zero issues or problems. Highly recommend this unit.

Door width open and door edge clearance

Spec state 46 3/4 door w open 90 degrees, but only 3/4 door edge clearance. This does not calculate to 10 extra inches added when door is open. Are 5 inches added to each side when door opens ?
Asked by: Crackers
Crackers, the width of the LG Large Capacity Counter-Depth 22 cu.ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator with Door-in-Door®, Model # LSC22991ST is 35 3/4" with the doors closed. When you open the doors 90 degrees, the width is 46 3/4". A difference of 11", in other words, 5 1/2" on either side. The 3/4" Door Edge Clearance is so the doors aren't too close to the walls so you have room to grasp the doors to close them...^IFV

can you adjust the roller height on the LG LSC22991ST refrigerator?

I know it has leveling blocks on the front of the frig but my question is about adjusting the 3 rollers that the frig rolls on. My cabinet space for the frig is 70 inches tall and the frig is 70 1/4 inches tall. If I can't adjust the rollers any lower, I am going to have to trim the bottom of the cabinet to get it to fit. I've had 2 other 26 cu ft refrigerators in this space and they both fit just fine.
