What People Are Saying

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Small Smart TV ! All the VOD apps you would want are available on this model. Navigation for VOD apps is easy. WiFi set-up was a breeze and works flawlessly. Remote control is well laid-out and logical. This model uses an Innolux S-MVA panel. (Yes, folks, this is NOT an LG IPS panel). There is a bit of "noise" or smearing of black areas under certain image conditions, but is not distracting (Over-the-air (OTA) signals are cleaner than cable signals in this regard). I understand this is a characteristic of the Innolux panel, not a defect in the TV itself. Otherwise, the image is excellent. As usual, LG provides a myriad of picture adjustment controls, almost mind-boggling, and typically only found on high-end models. The OTA tuner received all digital channels (172 program streams!) in the Los Angeles broadcast market with a rooftop antenna. A great secondary TV for the kitchen or bedroom. My only lament is that no one is providing S-Video inputs anymore, even in these smaller sets. Yet, they retain those good old RCA ones dating back to the 70's (?). A pity.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good TV but I have to input my password every time we want to use the streaming internet features. At this point better to get a regular tv and a streaming player

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Low cost "smart" TV I purchased the LG 24HL4830-PU LED TV as an addition to my fitness center. The size is perfect for treadmill entertainment. There was no problem in connecting the device to my TV box and receiving a good signal with a clear 720P picture. There were no dead pixels or screen blemishes. The manuals and instructions are based for someone with a limited technical background and WIFI OPERATION: I did, however, have a very difficult time getting the TV to connect to the network. Let me preface this part of my review with the specifications of my network. I connect to the Internet network (and TV) through a 1 Gb fiber optic connection. I have 120+ Mb wifi speeds throughout the house using the TV boxes as additional access points. I use a 24+ character passphrase to login into my wifi network Example: #1 Dog Chased 4 Cats Around 2 Trees.# 1. The setup tools were intuitive enough for anyone with a basic knowledge of today's technology, but clumsy to use using the device's remote as an input device. 2. When I opened the wifi setup tool, it showed 3 iterations of my wifi SSID, my wireless laser printer's SSID and several of my neighbor's networks as well. I assumed that the 3 iterations of my wifi SSID were my router and 2 TV box access points currently turned on. I turned off both TV boxes that were on, refreshed the TV network tool, and voilà, only one SSID from my wifi network showed up. 3. I tried 6 times to input my passphrase to connect to my network using the automatic procedure offered. The TV wouldn't accept the information. I then tried several times to input the passphrase using a manual method they offered. Now, I'm perfectly capable of making the mistake of miskeying a passphrase as the next person, but NOT as many times as I tried! 4. I called the 800 support number offered and was connected in a surprisingly short period of time. The support technician was heavily accented, but understandable. (I'm positive she spoke much better English that I can speak any other language, so kudos to her.) But... She was adamant that the problem was not with the device, but my problem with not being capable of navigating a remote successfully through a login procedure. I gave up and wished her a nice day. 5. Thoroughly frustrated with the circumstances. I momentarily considered "dumbing down" my passphrase and trying again. My stubbornness shrieked "NO!". I have way too many dependent electronic devices, both in my possession and friends and family to even think of changing my passphrase for a mere "less than smart" TV. 6. After sitting down and thinking about the problem for a while. The virtual "lightbulb" of an idea flashed brightly! The TV box has a physical network cable connector! A quick check with the TV box manual, a short CAT 6 jumper cable, and instant network connection! FINAL CONCLUSION: A fully functional TV with a clumsy remote that does what it's supposed to do. The memory for storing the appropriate "Smart Apps" is limited to 4096 MB so use a little discretion when installing the YouTube, Netflix, etc, apps for your enjoyment. Thanks for your audience and have a great day. M Wham

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Using as a Computer Monitor Needed a new computer monitor. Wanted on-board speakers and TV capability. This was a better and more economical option than a dedicated monitor. Had to play with the screen resolution settings to get good picture....successful. I wish the stand had tilt does not. Not sure how to take advantage of "smart tv" function, but not particularly needed, since it's connected to a computer already.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LG 24LH4830-PU is a Good Smart TV I been having the LG 24LH4830-PU for a month now. This is my first smart tv. The Wi Fi works great and we watch many free shows and movies through the streaming internet. There are even some free games to download and play. It has a really good tuner on it to bring in the over the air channels. I am very satisfied.

Can you connect it to an antenna or cable with no wi fi?  Is there a model with a dvd in it?

Asked by: Maxxlbr
Neither cable programming nor Over-the-Air programming that you can receive using an antenna uses Wi-Fi. You do not need Wi-Fi for those. The LG Smart LED TV - 24" Class (23.6" Diag), Model # 24LH4830 has a 75 ohm RF Antenna/Cable In connector in the back that you can connect to either and internal or external antenna for Over-the-Air digital broadcast signals or connect to your cable's set top box to receive cable programming. LG does not make any TVs with a built-in DVD anymore. Most companies, if not all, stopped manufacturing TVs with built-in DVD players a while back...^IFV

Can I sink my I phone and how?  My phone is not recognizing tv.

Asked by: Garylewis7
The LG Smart LED TV - 24" Class (23.6" Diag), Model # 24LH4830 supports Miracast, DLNA, WiDi and Wi-Fi Direct all of which can be used to screen mirror smart phones on the TV or share files from them. Regrettably iOS devices do not support Miracast and use Apples's Airplay technology for screen mirroring. They also do not support Intel® WiDi, DLNA or Wi-Fi Direct. You can also get the Apple TV which uses AirPlay and that will "push" video from your phone to the TV. Otherwise, we suggest that you contact Apple for assistance. There may be apps available that might help. It would also help to know which iPhone you have...^IFV
