What People Are Saying

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 91 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very Happy We are very happy with our LG washer! It cleans very well and doesn't leave my clothes in a giant tangled up mess like other washers. I am very happy with this purchase and will continue to purchase LG products. I also love that it does not scream at you when it is finished. It plays a nice song that is pleasant. August 4, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love my new washer. Easy to use. Super quiet. Does a great job cleaning the clothes. Rated a best buy by Consumer Reports and I agree. August 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Mother's Day Gift Ever I love this machine! It is so energy efficient and easy to use, and it has saved me $20/mo. on my water bill. And the large capacity is perfect with 5 kids in the house! ;) August 1, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by for clean clothes only They work good mechanically no problems other than cleaning nothing comes out in the wash. If your clothes are dirt going in they come out the same after the wash cycle. It takes a long time also to wash and I 've tried all the setting even added the stained feature nothing works pretreating or steaming. I read the reviews and bought a set now I hate them July 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product. Everything you need. This has everything that you could need in a washing machine. Quiet - Water Saver - Detergent Saver - Gets clothes very clean - Easy to use July 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by WM3250HWA Front loaded washer The washing machine is very quiet. The control options available are excellent. The machine is easy to learn to operate. July 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Performs very well My old washer gave out, so I had to go buy a new one, immediately. I researched available products and chose this one primarily b/c it has a steam function. Washers don't ordinarily excite me, but this is an exceptional product. PRO's: -It cleans the clothes well, as one hopes a clothes washer will do - although many do not. -It uses very little water. The cost of water is not an issue for me, but "waste" is. So, two thumbs up for getting the job done #clean clothes# with far less water! -It has a large capacity "drum", but the washer itself has the same footprint as most all others. -It has a steam function, which I particularly like b/c it reduces the amount of bleach I feel compelled to utilize #less chemical usage is always a good thing#. and it is reasonable to assume I am achieving the same level of "cleanliness" by using the steam function w/o bleach, as I was with my old washer with bleach and no steam function. -It is, relatively, very quiet. -Its "alarms" are pleasant. -It has a "water pump" filter that is easily accessed and is intended to be cleaned periodically. This, IMO, reduces the chance of malfunction. -it has multiple functions which allows one to get the "exact" settings they desire for a given load of laundry. CONS: -The lettering on the "additional wash functions" is barely legible b/c it is near the same color as the background color. This may seem "nit picky", but it seems to me it is rather obvious that one would want "functions" to be legible - otherwise, why label them at all? Comments: It did not come with a "get started kit" with an HE detergent sample. Okay, this is a small thing, but many people replace a non-HE washer with an HE, and most likely have "non HE" detergent on hand, and not HE. Yet, most all other washers do come with detergent samples. Go figure. As to "quality" of the machine itself, I have only had the machine for around a month or so. I don't know how one would measure "quality" in such a short time. I can say its "apparent quality" is "good", but since there is no way for me, or any else that is simply using the machine #as opposed to testing it#, to actually know what the quality of its various functions, or longevity are/is - I think rating its "quality" is kind of meaningless. For this reason, and only this reason, I gave "quality" three stars. July 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by I LOVE doing laundry now! Very old stack-able washer/dryer bit the dust. Went shopping for new stack-able to fit in our pantry space. We got a great deal on the front loading LG Washer and Dryer. I love the features and that it plays a tune when they are done running. I have never been so excited to wash laundry before. I love the look, value and function of my new washer and dryer. Also the fact that my clothes seem to come out cleaner and I am using MUCH LESS water and electricity makes me happy as well. Answer:
I have washed a king sized goose-down comforter in my machine without any problems. Keep in mind though that down compacts quite a bit when wet, so I'm not sure how it will do with a non-down comforter. But so far, so good for me with my king size bed linens.

Answer:
Hi Ally,
Your interest in the LG - SteamWasher 4.0 Cu. Ft. 9-Cycle Ultralarge-Capacity High-Efficiency Steam Front-Loading Washer, Model # WM3250HWA is greatly appreciated. Thank you for contacting us with your question concerning whether or not this washer is big enough for a King size comforter.
The answer for that is not quite so simple only because there are so many different fills that are used in comforters making their respective weights very different. So allow me to answer your question this way. 4.0 cu. ft. is a large capacity and can hold from 14-16 lbs of washing, but that is wet clothing! As you and I know, wet clothing can be extremely heavy, especially a comforter!
Knowing the weight of your comforter will definitely help, fold it up and put it on a scale and weigh it! How much water soaks it is the key and if it appears that your comforter may possible exceed the weight capacity, it would not be advisable to put it into the washer 'cause you risk destroying your washer!
So in answer to your question, Yes, it is big enough, but I say that while issuing you the above caveat on the weight! Proceed with caution...IFV

There is a sensor on the washer and it determines that for you. Great feature. I wondered that at first myself.

Answer:
We literally just throw in what feels like, or looks like a reasonable load. We do not stuff it full, of course. I'd say that with a dry load of shirts, pants, underwear, etc. loaded in, the tub appears to be perhaps half full. The washer measures the weight by rolling the tub slowly in each direction several times, and after that process is complete, it adds the appropriate amount of water. There is seldom a lot of water in the tub but don't worry about it as it seems to clean everything excellently.

Can I use Downy Unstopables in this washer?

I just purchased this washer (so excited!) I know we should use liquid deterrent and such but maybe I can toss the the scent beads directly in the bin instead of the dispenser, or should I find a liquid scent booster?

I have been using Downy Unstopables since the day I found them at the supermarket. I went onto Downy's website and checked the product faq and Downy confirms they are safe for front load HE washers. I have had no issues using them either.

Answer:
We appreciate your interest in this washing machine. If you wish for a substance to freshen the clothing, it is recommended to use a fabric softener with the appropriate fragrance in the appropriate dispenser. The manufacturer does not recommend adding anything directly into the wash tub itself. Also consider that most of the additives are designed for a 60 gallon wash cycle, rather than 13-15 gallons.
