The UltraFine evo 6K features a 6,144 × 3,456 resolution and a pixel density of 224 PPI. This combination supports clear inspection of line edges, alpha transitions, and detail in masks or composite layers that often reveal issues only at very high magnification. Many creators work with dense interfaces, scopes, reference windows, and toolbars that can crowd conventional displays. 

The 32-inch HiDPI panel keeps all interface elements sharp without forcing the user to zoom in repeatedly. This helps maintain consistent awareness of the entire timeline while making precise adjustments to individual frames, animation paths, or layered visual assets.

Real-World Color Accuracy Needed for Editing and Design

Color decisions influence every stage of post-production, from color grading and retouching to proofing layouts for print and digital distribution. DisplayHDR 600 certification gives users more confidence when evaluating highlight roll-off and shadow density in footage or stills. LG will also introduce Studio Mode, which includes preset profiles for Mac workflows that support tasks such as grading review and soft-proofing sessions.

Thunderbolt 5 provides up to 120 Gbps of unidirectional bandwidth. This speed improves responsiveness during real-time review and reduces the time needed to load or transfer large project files. The UltraFine evo 6K benefits from this throughput when working with 8K RAW footage, asset-heavy VFX timelines or AI-enhanced tools that place significant strain on system resources. 

External SSDs and eGPUs also operate more efficiently under this standard, helping users avoid bottlenecks that are common in older connection setups. These improvements support smoother playback, faster export iterations and more stable performance when balancing multiple applications.

A Larger Canvas Made Possible by a 6K Monitor Setup

The UltraFine evo 6K offers 2.56 times the pixel count of a standard 4K UHD display. This expanded workspace helps creators keep scopes, references, and tool palettes visible while still retaining room for large previews. Dual 6K setups increase the available area to nearly five times the size of a single 4K monitor. 

This supports tasks such as comparing multiple versions of a shot, reviewing storyboards or tracking long timelines during collaborative editing sessions. Daisy-chain support through Thunderbolt allows these setups to remain organized without adding additional cables or hardware, resulting in a cleaner desk and undisturbed focus.

Creative pipelines often involve both macOS and Windows systems. The UltraFine evo 6K includes built-in KVM switching that allows users to transition between systems with one set of controls. This supports daily tasks such as format checks, export verification, and cross-platform testing without constant cable adjustments.

The screen can rotate vertically to support workflows for mobile-first content such as Shorts or Reels. Thunderbolt 5 reduces cable count around the workstation, which helps maintain a clean workspace and improves long-term concentration.

LG will begin shipments in late September in South Korea and Japan, followed by a global release in October across the United States and Europe.
