[LG smart TV monitor] When using the settop box, the TV turns off occasionally (turns off and on repeatedly)

Troubleshooting

HDMI cables have a CEC function, enabling power control between products.
The power may turn on or off automatically due to a malfunction of the CEC function.

Causes and Symptoms

  • When using the settop box, the automatic TV power function is turned on.

Try this

Does the power turn on or off automatically?

➔ Disable the [Automatic Power] function from the setting menu of the smart TV monitor.

Press the settings button on the remote control → [All Settings] → [General] → [Devices] → [HDMI settings] → [SIMPLINK (HDMI-CEC)] → [ON] → [OFF].

1. Turn on the TV and press the [Settings] button on the remote control.

2. From the [Settings] list, select [All Settings].

3. From [General], select [Devices].

4. Select [HDMI Settings].

Select [HDMI Settings].

5. Set [SIMPLINK (HDMI-CEC)] to OFF.

※ Since webOS6.0 or later, there is no separate automatic power supply, and if you set SIMPLINK (HDMI-CEC) to OFF,
it will not be controlled by external devices.

Set [SIMPLINK (HDMI-CEC)] to OFF.

Press the 설정버튼 이미지 button on the remote control. → [All Settings] → [Connect] → [Set Device Connection] → [Automatic Power Supply] → [ON] → [OFF].

3. From [Connect], select [Set Device Connection].

4. From [Set Device Connection], change the setting of [Automatic Power Supply] from ON to OFF.
