Mirror your smartphone to your LG TV wirelessly (Android and iPhone)

Troubleshooting

With your smartphone's screen sharing feature, you can wirelessly mirror your phone's screen and audio to your LG TV. No cables required.
On Android, swipe down from the top of your screen to open the Quick Settings panel, and select your LG TV from the list of available devices.
On iPhone, make sure your phone and TV are on the same Wi-Fi network, then open Control Center and use Screen Mirroring (AirPlay) to select your TV.
If your iPhone can't connect, open the [Home Dashboard] on your TV and make sure AirPlay is turned on.

Why won't my phone connect to my TV?

1. Different connection methods by phone type

Android and iPhone (iOS) use different methods to send your screen to the TV.

To connect successfully, use the screen sharing feature that matches your type of phone.

2. Different Wi-Fi networks

When mirroring your iPhone, AirPlay can't find your TV if your phone and TV are on different Wi-Fi networks.

Make sure both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

3. AirPlay turned off on the TV

Even when your iPhone is set up correctly, it can't connect if AirPlay is turned off on the TV. Open the TV menu and set the AirPlay feature to [On] to fix the issue.

Connection Methods by Smartphone Type

Case 1. Mirroring Your Android Phone Screen

Swipe down from the top-right corner of your phone screen to open the [Quick Settings] panel.

Find and tap the [Screen Share] icon (it may also appear as Smart View or a similar name, depending on your device).

From the list of available devices, select your [LG TV].

When a connection request appears on your TV, press the [OK] button on your TV remote to accept it.

To disconnect, tap the floating circular icon on your phone screen and select [Disconnect].

Case 2. Mirroring Your iPhone Screen (AirPlay)

Make sure your iPhone and LG TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

Swipe down from the top right of your screen to open [Control Center]. On older models, swipe up from the bottom edge.

Tap the [Screen Mirroring] icon, which looks like two overlapping rectangles.

Select your LG TV from the list. When a 4-digit AirPlay passcode appears on your TV screen, enter it on your iPhone.

To disconnect, open [Control Center] and tap [Stop Mirroring].

Case 3. Turning On AirPlay if Your iPhone Can't Find Your TV

Setting AirPlay to [On] in the AirPlay and HomeKit Settings menu.

Press and hold the [Input] or [Home Hub] button on your TV remote to open the [TV/Inputs] menu at the bottom of the screen.

Select [AirPlay] from the menu.

In [AirPlay and HomeKit Settings], if [AirPlay] is set to [Off], press the [OK] button on your remote to set it to [On].

FAQ

Q. Why doesn't my LG TV appear in my iPhone's device list?
A. Make sure your iPhone and TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, and check that [AirPlay] is turned on in the TV menu.
Additionally, the connection may fail if your Wi-Fi router is set to a DFS channel (channels 52–144).
Q. Why does my video keep stuttering after connecting?
A. Wireless screen mirroring depends heavily on your Wi-Fi connection. For smoother playback, make sure there are no obstacles between your phone and the TV, and stay close to your Wi-Fi router.
