Does it have fruit fly-like bugs in the fridge?
The refrigerator is sealed completely to prevent cold air from escaping, so bugs such as fruit flies cannot enter.
Also, the cold temperatures make it impossible for insects to survive in the refrigerator.
However, be careful when opening and closing the refrigerator door, as bugs may be attracted by the food smell from the refrigerator or the light in the refrigerator.
It is recommended that you keep the area around the sink or waste bin clean to keep it insect free.
Try this
Are there fruit flies visible around the sink or garbage can?
➔ Maintain a clean area to prevent attracting fruit flies.
The refrigerator is not structured for fruit flies to enter easily.
However, if there are fruit flies in the house, they can enter your refrigerator when the refrigerator door opens, attracted by the smell of food or lighting.
Fruit flies tend to gather in places where there is the smell of food, so it is recommended to keep the sink and trash can clean by preventing food scraps from accumulating.
Is the refrigerator door not closed tightly?
➔ Always check if the refrigerator door is closed properly.
Be aware that bugs such as fruit flies may enter if the refrigerator door is not completely closed.
First, remove the refrigerator cover on top, as it can get stuck in the refrigerator door and prevent the door from closing properly.
The refrigerator door may not close properly when the shelves are placed incorrectly or there is too much food in the refrigerator.
Check the shelf position and rearrange the food products.
Is there food residue on the door gasket or a gap in the door gasket?
➔ Clean the door gasket so that the fruit flies aren’t attracted by the smell of food and enter the refrigerator.
If the door gasket is damaged, gasket replacement is necessary.
The inside of the refrigerator is sealed, so no insects such as fruit flies can enter.
Also, the cold temperatures inside the fridge make it impossible for insects to survive inside.
However, the area where the refrigerator and door gasket come into contact is warm, which can attract flies.
Fruit flies in particular are drawn to food stains on the door gasket, can hide in any gaps in the door gasket and then fly into the refrigerator when the door is opened.
If there is any foreign substance on the door gasket, use a toothbrush or sponge dipped in alcohol to clean it off.
If the door gasket is torn, contact an LG Electronics service center for a replacement.
If the produce is stored as it is, insects may appear inside the refrigerator. Ensure that you wash or clean such foods before storing them.
