If water or ice isn't dispensing from your LG refrigerator that uses a
water tank (without a plumbing connection), first check that the water
tank is properly filled.
Also, check if the refrigerator temperature is set too low, causing the
water in the tank to freeze, or if the ice bin is already full, which
pauses ice production.
What to Check if Water or Ice Isn't Dispensing
Check the Water Tank Level and Condition
- Fill the water tank with clean, filtered water up to the MAX line.
-
If there is any debris or residue inside the tank, water flow may be
blocked even if the tank appears full.
Clean the tank thoroughly before reinstalling it.
Check the Refrigerator Temperature
- If the refrigerator temperature is set too low, the water inside the tank may freeze, preventing water or ice from dispensing.
- Adjust the refrigerator to an appropriate temperature and arrange food items so cold air can circulate properly.
Check if the Ice Bin Is Full
- When the ice bin is full, the refrigerator automatically pauses ice production.
- If the bin is full, empty it and check if ice production resumes.
Note
- Only use clean, filtered water in the water tank. Do not add beverages or other liquids, as this may clog the system and prevent water from dispensing.
