Vegetables or fruits may freeze in the crisper drawer if the
refrigerator temperature is set too low (1–2°C / 34–36°F) or the crisper
air vent is open.
To resolve this, set the refrigerator temperature to 3°C (37°F) or
higher and close the crisper air vent.
How do I prevent fruits and vegetables from freezing in the crisper drawer?
Step 1. Adjust the refrigerator temperature
If the refrigerator temperature is set too low (1–2°C / 34–36°F), food in the crisper drawer may freeze. (The recommended temperature is 3°C / 37°F.)
- 1. Press and hold the [Lock / Unlock] button on the front display for 3 seconds to unlock the controls. (Some models may not have this button.)
- 2. Press the [Fridge Temperature] button and set the temperature to 3°C (37°F) or higher.
- 3. Once the temperature is set,, press the [Lock / Unlock] button again to lock the controls.
Note: The location of the temperature control may vary by model. Refer to your user manual for details.
Step 2. Close the crisper air vent (if applicable)
For models with a crisper air vent, leaving it open allows cold air to
enter directly and may cause food to freeze.
To resolve this:
Set the air vent inside or above the crisper drawer to [Closed].
Step 3. Store fruits and vegetables at the proper temperature
Some foods, especially tropical fruits, are sensitive to low
temperatures.
Storing them in colder areas, such as the Fresh
Zone or standard crisper drawer, may cause them to freeze or spoil.
Please note
- Do not store tropical fruits such as bananas, pineapples, or melons in the refrigerator. These should be stored at room temperature (10–15°C / 50–59°F).

- Q. Can I store fruit in the Fresh Zone?

a lower temperature than the main refrigerator compartment to store
meat or fish.
Fruits and vegetables with high moisture content may freeze in this area, so use the crisper drawer instead.
