This may occur if you swapped the liquid detergent and the fabric softener when putting them into the automatic liquid detergent and the fabric softener dispensers.
For a Signature model, if the fabric softener is not dispensed or you cannot smell the fabric softener after washing is complete, first check whether the liquid detergent/fabric softener went in the correct dispensers.

A Signature model has an automatic liquid detergent/fabric softener dispenser in the lower part of the front load washing machine.
Normally, the liquid detergent should be poured into the left side, and the fabric softener dispenser should be put into the right side.
If they are put in the reverse order, you will not smell the fabric softener on the fabrics after washing is complete.
