[LG DIOS dishwasher] How to load various dishes and cautions when loading.

Troubleshooting

If dishes are not loaded correctly when using a dishwasher, various problems may be caused, such as degraded washing power due to disruption in the stream from nozzles, or noise due to nozzles catching on dishes.

Adjustment of dish loading height

➔ The heights and spaces of racks can be adjusted easily to accommodate large pots as well as small dishes.

1. Lower rack

In the lower rack, the plate holder can be in a standing or reclined position.
It can accommodate a frying pan or a large pot.

2. Upper rack

In the upper rack, the loading space can be adjusted by changing the height of the upper rack across the 1st rack position, 2nd rack position, or 3rd rack position.
This rack is suitable for washing concave bowls, small plates, cups, and glasses.

3. Highest rack

In the highest rack, the spoon holder can be adjusted to load ladles and other cooking tools.
Insert the handle of silverware into the hole.
If the handle is too thick, change the location.

Cautions when loading dishes

Classification, Details
Classification Details
Small plastic dishes Cleaning and drying performance may degrade.
Plastic dishes with lower than 90℃ heat resistance The dish may be deformed, and drying performance
may degrade depending on the characteristics of the material.
Silver spoons and dishes (including brassware) Dishes may turn yellow or black if exposed to hot water
/detergent/sulfur ingredients.
Crystal dishes In the case of high-end glass products,
cloudiness may occur if they are washed often,
because of fine pores in the surface.
Aluminum dishes Damage and discoloration may occur on the dishes,
and the dishes may have a chemical reaction
with detergents that contain acids/alkalis.
Lacquerware, wooden stackable side-dish boxes,
gold-plated dishes
Damage and discoloration to the dishes may result.
Tea towels and sponges A household dishwasher should be used for dishes only.
Using it for purposes other than dish washing may cause a malfunction in the product.
Gold-plated dishes, colored china,
and otherhigh-enddishes
that should not be washed by a dishwasher
The gold plating or glaze may come off,
or deformation/damage to some dishes may result.
Knives/scissors/pots that have metal connections Plastic handles may be damaged because of their low heat resistance,
and rust may occur metal connections if foreign objects become stuck in such places.
Frying pans/pots/rice cookers The life of such products may be reduced through their coatings being worn off,
and detergent and water entering where coatings become weaker may cause white stains.

How to load dishes

  • Methods may differ depending on dish manufacturers. Make sure to check the instructions from the dish manufacturer before loading the dishes.
  • Remove any chunks of food, such as bones and fruit seeds, before loading.
  • Soak scorched pots, and stuck-on food, such as steamed eggs, for approximately an hour, and pre-wash before loading.
  • In cases of dishes with sides that are difficult for streams of water to reach, such as deep pots or wide frying pans, pre-wash them and lay them down as much as possible for washing.

  • Load plates in a standing position. In case of concave dishes, such as bowls, cups, and pots, have the concave parts facing downwards.

  • Be careful when loading pointed or sharp dishes, so that the surface of racks will not be damaged or dented.
    Otherwise, the surface coating of the rack may come off and the rack may become rusty.
  • Avoid loading dishes so that they are overlapping.

  • To ensure dishes do not come in contact with the nozzles, adjust the height of the racks when loading dishes, or reload dishes that nozzles may contact.
    Otherwise, dishes will come into contact with the nozzles and cause noises, or nozzles that cannot move because of obstructing dishes will mean that washing cannot be carried out properly.

  • For the best washing performance, load the cutlery in a standing position as shown in the illustration.

  • Adjust the left and right sides of the upper rack in the same position. Otherwise, the door may not close.
