Why the dHE error code appears during a dry cycle on your LG washer dryer combo, and how to fix it

Troubleshooting

The dHE error code is a built-in safety feature on washer dryer combo models. It appears when the drying fan motor isn't working properly.

Caution

  • The drying fan motor and surrounding components may carry high voltage or remain hot after use. Do not attempt to disassemble or modify any parts yourself.

Causes

1. The drying fan motor isn't working properly

This error occurs during a dry cycle if the fan motor, which circulates warm air inside the drum, fails to rotate or has an electrical issue.

2. Temporary system error

Even if the fan motor is working fine, a temporary power fluctuation or system glitch can cause the washer to incorrectly detect a motor issue.

How to Fix the dHE Error

Step 1. Restart the washer

Unplug the washer and wait about 5 minutes to fully discharge any remaining power.

Step 2. Test the dry cycle

Plug the washer back in, turn it on, and run a dry cycle by itself to see if the error code reappears.

Step 3. Schedule service

If the dHE error code still appears after restarting the washer, it may need to be inspected or repaired. Contact LG Customer Support for assistance.

FAQ

Q. Can I still use wash and spin cycles when the dHE error appears?
A. Wash and spin cycles may still start, but the cycle may not complete properly if the issue is related to the drying system. To help protect your appliance, we recommend not using the washer until it has been inspected.
Q. Are the dE1 and dE2 error codes also related to the drying function?
A. No. The dE, dE1, and dE2 codes indicate a Door Error, which means the door isn't fully closed. The dHE error is specific to the drying system (heater and fan motor).
