[LG dryer - Sound] Dryer makes a noise

Troubleshooting

Causes and Symptoms

  • A rattling, clicking, pounding, beeping, whirring, or burping sound is heard while the dryer is running.

Try this

Clothes-colliding sound (rattling, clicking, or pounding sound)

➔ If you hear a rattling, clicking, or pounding sound while running your machine, this is caused by hard items such as zippers or buttons, or wet, hard, and heavy clothes that hit the tub.

This is a normal sound created while drying. Don’t worry and run your machine.
If you want to reduce such sounds, fasten the zippers and buttons in your clothes, turn the clothes inside out, and remove all things such as coins or keys from the pockets before you put them into the dryer.

Compressor sound (beeping, humming)

➔ The beeping or humming sound from the compressor is made at an early stage of the drying cycle when the compressor accelerates.

The heat pump dryer may be affected by the external environment while drying.
Affected by the external low temperatures, sometimes the compressor may make a sound while accelerating to increase the temperature quickly at an early stage of drying.
This is not a persistent sound but is made only when the compressor makes high speed revolutions. Don’t worry and run your machine.

Draining and condenser cleaning sounds (humming, whirring, or burping sound)

➔ Humming, whirring, or burping sounds during drying are caused by the drain pump running.

When the water condensed during drying reaches a certain level, the drain pump starts and automatically performs draining and washing of the condenser, making this sound.
Though the sound may vary with the amount of condensed water, the sound is made by the drain pump in normal operation. Don’t worry and run your machine.
