[LG Air Conditioner Power] The power turns off by itself during use of the product

Troubleshooting

Does the power turn off by itself during use of the air conditioner even if no blackout takes place?

The air conditioner is one of home appliances of great power consumption.
If using other home appliances on a same power strip, or the outdoor unit is overheated, the power may turn off.

Causes and Symptoms

  • The power cord is not correctly plugged in the outlet.
  • The circuit breaker tripped all of sudden during use.

Try this

Is the machine’s power plug connected to a power strip?

➔ Connect the power cord to an exclusive outlet on the wall.

A power strip commonly used in your home is restricted of the maximum power consumption.
The capacity of the power strip will, thus, become insufficient when using the air conditioner of large power consumption together with other electronic products.

Has the circuit breaker for the air conditioner tripped?

➔ Reset the circuit breaker to check the breaker.

If the circuit breaker does not reset, turn off the product’s power first and then reset the circuit breaker.
If the circuit breaker does not reset following this, it may be a problem with the electrical facilities inside the building, so you will need to consult the management office or electrical supply specialist.
However, if the breaker does not reset while the power is being supplied, it may be a product defect.
Ask for an inspection by an LG professional service technician.

Raising the air conditioner breaker

Is the power cord correctly plugged in the outlet? Has the outlet been destroyed?

➔ Fully plug the power plug to prevent loosening.
Make sure that another home appliance normally operates when connecting to the same outlet.

Fully plug the power cord into the outlet, and turn the air conditioner on back.
If plugging another home appliance into an outlet does not see the appliance work, it is an outlet defect.
Check with the management office or electrician for outlet defects.
