Unlike during cooling, the heating operation switches the roles of the outdoor and indoor units to heat, so
cold air comes out of the outdoor unit when it is used in winter.
At this time, moisture in the air adheres to the surface of the evaporator in the outdoor unit, causing
frost.
If there is a lot of frost on the outdoor unit, the heating capacity is degraded, so, the [defrosting function] is performed and water drips down and becomes white water
vapor/steam as frost melts.

Note
During the defrosting operation, warm air stops and cold refrigerant flows to the indoor unit, which may
cause a contraction/expansion noise.
This is a normal process of the defrosting operation, so rest assured, it is not a product defect.
