If your refrigerator doors are opening too easily, check that the refrigerator has a slight tilt toward the back. This may require the use of a small torpedo level. The front of the refrigerator should be a slight bit higher than the back. Adjust the leveling legs at the front of the unit to raise it. This will allow for better door function and sealing.

Check the door gaskets (seals) for dirt or any debris that could prevent a proper seal. Use warm water and a mild detergent (if necessary) to clean the seals. Also, check the seals to see if any part is compressed in or pinched. If so, it will not make good contact with the cabinet when the door shuts. Pull out any compressed part of the seal. If the seals are torn or damaged, the unit will not seal in the cold air which can prevent the unit from maintaining the proper temperature in the unit and will make it run more often. If this is the case, the refrigerator will require service.
