What People Are Saying

Rated 4 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by The Air Conditioner looks great on the box I can't really review the air conditioner because it did not come with a window sleeve for installation. My husband called the 800 number and they are supposed to be sending the sleeve. There is not a word on the outside of the box that says there is no sleeve enclosed, I am very dissapointed. Rated 5 out of 5 by Powerful Air Conditioner This air conditioner is a good buy. If you have a dedicated 220V outlet, don't even think about any 110V alternatie air conditioners. They will always be weaker than this one, dim lights when compressor kicks in, or overheat. This unit easily cools a living room/kitchen, about 500 sq. feet. The only complain is excessive noise, but only on high fan setting, otherwise it is tolerable. September 1, 2012

Answer:
We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. The Fresh Air Vent is fairly small, being only about a square inch in size. This is opened and closed by the Vent Control Stick that extends through the Air Discharge duct.

I'm looking for a thru the wall air conditioner that does not have that white styrofoam on the inside. It seems that the one I have is full of mold. Black mold. I do not want to purchase another a/c unit that has the styrofoam. I've read that the styrofoam is there to insulate the unit but I have 2 smaller window units that do not have styrofoam. Those 2 smaller units stay clean and there is no mold problem.

Not sure why I can' t reply to the person who answered my initial question without starting a new question, so I'm sorry about that.

I was mentioning that there is mold on the styrofoam that is inside of my air conditioner and was wondering if they all have it, which the person said yes.

if this person sees this question: could you kindly let me know of a way to get rid of the mold that accumulated on the styrofoam? I mentioned I have 2 other smaller units (window) that do not have styrofoam, perhaps you know of a model that does not have it? It seems problematic at best, if it is going to become moldy, I can not use the unit. Please advise and thank you!!
