What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product is not dependable. I purchased this item in 2008 with a five year warrenty. It broke down every year at the worst time. Either at the hottest or the coldest of weather. It is not dependable. After everything had been replaced--we actually got one year without a repair but has started all over again. Company was not helpful. If you like repairs then it is for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent AC unit This is in the living room of our guest house and is so powerful, most guests don't need to turn the one on in the bedroom. We haven't used the heater part but I'm confident it will be great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This unit is quiet and powerful I recently purchased the LW1213HR to heat and cool my 450 sq. ft garage which is fully remodeled as a work out center. I live a Florida and it gets very hot, this units cools it down in 4-5 minutes and keeps it cool and I cannot even tell a difference in my electric bill and I use every day. The heating function works just as well. Very quiet, does not interfere with the work I do with my fitness clients

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good product for the money! I bought this product to go in my newly constructed "Man Cave". I have been very pleased with the performance of this product. I love the fact that I can set the timer and it will come on before I get home and it will either be nice and cool or warm when I get there. I would highly recommend this product to anyone!

My heating feature does not want to work. I have only had the unit for about 1year 1/2 and have only used the heating once. How can I fix this issue?

Wall unit combo heat/AC unit, 12000 btu's, should fan continue when AC compressor is running? Fan only stops in energy saver mode.

Asked by: Anonymous
We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner unit. This model has been designed to be installed in a window. If this unit has been installed in the wall, there is the possibility of improper operation, which can result in voiding the manufacturer’s warranty. The fan, on this model, is designed to run at all times, unless the ENERGY SAVER mode is active.

Purchased this unit 6 months ago it cools great but it's very loud, even when I turn off the unit the compressor makes a loud noise like its still cycling on and off.... Is this normal.... The only way to stop it is to disconnected from the power source..

Asked by: ecflare3
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. It is not normal for the compressor or fan to continue operations if the system has been deactivated. It would therefore be suggested to contact a qualified service technician. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair/support-repair-provider-lookup.jsp.

compressor is rarely kicking on..no matter what temp we set it on.

compressor kicks off every 10 minutes not matter how hot it is in here! help! It's only 2 years old and I have taken good care of it so I don't understand this.
Asked by: tresa
In exceptionally high heat, due to the high temperatures, air conditioners cannot cool the room sufficiently and the compressor is unable to cycle on/off in its normal regular intervals and tends to run more often if not continuously which is what appears to be happening with your LG 12,000 BTU Heat/Cool Window Air Conditioner with Remote, Model # LW1213HR. Is the air conditioner installed in direct sunlight? If it is, You would do well to shade it from that direct sunlight because the sunlight hitting the case causes heat build up in the air conditioner and that might cause it to malfunction. The air conditioner should also get maintenance service because dirt and debris can accumulate inside the unit which could also lead to a reduction in performance...^IFV

woke up this morning to a howling blower motor and the heat temp set at 86 degrees, while it still blows fairly hard the temp is not 86 degrees, any info or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Check to see if it is blowing any hot air at all, that we might determine if the heating element is operational. With the blower motor being so loud, it may require service. Is the heat in this unit provided via heating strips or by reversing the cooling unit (like a heat pump)?

Asked by: Belltower
There is a heating element in the unit. But that is my problem with the unit. the heat will come up to temperature quickly, the heating element will shut off and the fan runs continuously, blowing cool air. this is a flaw or bad design.
