Answer:
To my knowledge, the unit has an electric heat strip for the heating mode. I do not recall it being labeled as a heat pump unit. It does appear to have a scroll compressor which i like.

Can this unit be mounted through-wall?

If so, does LG sell the mount?

I apologize, but no; this air conditioner has been designed for a WINDOW INSTALLATION ONLY. To install this device in any other manner would constitute an improper installation and can lead to poor operation that could potentially cause damage to the product.

Answer:
We regret your displeasure with the design of this air conditioner. The ENERGY SAVER mode is designed to operate in conjunction with the compressor system of this unit. The heat is related to the electric heat strip which will not be controlled with the ENERGY SAVER feature.

Does the heat strip go on and off while the fan runs continuously?

I've noticed that the heat comes on for about 40 seconds and the fan circulates the heat for those 40 seconds. Then there is no heat for about 3 minutes or so, but the fan keeps running and the air is cold. That seems to defeat the purpose if you get only 40 seconds of heat and 3 minutes of cold air. Shouldn't the air that is circulated be warm continuously?

Answer:
The heating element in this air conditioner has been designed to provide supplimental heat, and is not intended to be a primary or sole heat source. The heat supplied by this air conditioner is supposed to add its warm air to that which is in the room, and then circulate the warm air, without making it too hot, which could occur if the heating element was left on continuously. If you still believe the unit is not operating properly, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair....

Answer:
I apologize, but no; the Energy Saver function is not compatible with the HEAT mode. This feature works directly with the Compressor / Sealed System of the unit. Since the heating portion of this unit is an electric heating element, it will not be directly associated with Energy Saver mode.
