What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps 17x12 room very cool Easy to install and works great. Low noise. Timer controls are a plus. Remote works with other LG models!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed It arrived without a back cover which I think is odd but the book does not show one so I assume it doesn't come with one. We ordered it before finishing our space so it has been installed for about a month now and I noticed it is not dripping the humidity outside, as it should. Also, the area it needs to cool is 225 square feet and just isn't able to do the job well. Will call for a repair person to check it out for us soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect to heat and air condition a medium size ro Four months ago I purchased and installed this unit. It has kept the room at a perfect temperature all through the winter months. Now, as the spring warmth comes, it is working as a perfect air conditioner. The unit looks great and does a wonderful job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from AC good but manual needs two changes I installed this Window AC yesterday. On page 13 the picture for installing the frame guides needs to be much bigger with some details shown. It took a while to figure out how the plastic frame guides were to be installed. Then I had them backwards. It was hard to remove and reverse them. Also on page 2 the table of contents does not list the warranty which is on page 46 in the Spanish section of the manual.

Why is my unit icing up in the area just behind the filter, and when I turn the unit off it still makes a humming noise? I've cleaned the unit, and the problem continues.

Asked by: DAQ539
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. Ice build-up can occur in response to dust/lint build-up in the grille fins, or due to the filter needing to be cleaned. If this does not resolve the matter, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair/support-repair-provider-lookup.jsp.

I bought the same unit above model no.LW8015HR from a individual, the unit is 14 months old and when I turn it on cool it runs about 30 min then freezes over in the front and the unit is clean your thoughts I was thinking it may be low on freon

Asked by: Fireman 1
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this portable air conditioner. The description given suggests that the A/C unit may be overpowered for the area in which it is positioned. If a unit is too large, then the cooling system will run a short cycle (turn on and off continuously), cooling the immediate area around the unit, but not the rest of the room. A smaller device may be required. If this does not appear to be the case, then please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

Why the heater on our unit keeps turning on and off in a matter of seconds

Asked by: Blove
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner / heater. The heater is generally set to run constantly. As such, the unit may have overheated. Make sure there is no restriction to airflow around the cabinet. If this does not resolve the matter, then it may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair/support-repair-provider-lookup.jsp.

Is there a minimum outdoor temperature that this unit will work at? For example, does the heater work even when outdoor temperatures dip below 45 degrees or so?

Asked by: KayKay1
The outside temperature shouldn't affect the operation of this unit. This unit uses strips not a heat pump for heating. So it's pulling air from your room across heated strips and pushing the now heated air back into the room.
