Rated 1 out of 5 by Great Value if you want to purchase again & again Never dropped, never in water, hot car or cold. Three months in touch screen completely quites working. Actually stick it in a clean sock and put in my hiking pack to protect it while trail running and listening to music with earbuds. Just stopped working??? The OS I did like. Camera...Not so much. Screen impossible to see outside. Save your money. July 21, 2014

Rated 3 out of 5 by A Very Good Phone - Limited Apps Storage & Slow 3G The LG Optimus Exceed 2 is a really good entry level phone held back by two flaws. First, has 3G data speeds only. In 2014, even entry level phones have access to 4G data speeds. Second, even if you add a 32gb micro SD memory card, you are limited to a tiny 1GB of internal memory for apps and games. Android Kitkat software prevents moving most apps to the SD card Those two drawbacks make the Exceed 2 useful only for people who limit their phone use to making phone calls and texting. For them, it is a terrific phone. But, the internal memory is so small it can be totally filled by just one large game, and when internal memory is filled, the phone stops working. Its very slow 3G data speeds will make downloading music or trying to watch a video very frustrating experiences. Lots of folks DO want a phone just for phone calls and text messages, and for them, the Exceed 2 is well worth considering. It has a large 4.5 screen with rich color and good contrast, although it is not very sharp for reading text with small fonts. If you connect to wifi, Netflix movies look terrific. Although the screen is large, the body is compact and light, making the phone a good fit in both smaller hands and tight pockets. The Exceed 2 looks much more expensive than its price. In a nice case, it looks very much like LG's top of the line phones. Phone call quality depends on signal quality. In areas with a strong signal, the Exceed 2 is impressive. Voices can sound as good as a landline, much better than the typical cell phone. The battery life is impressive. People who just make phone calls and text will get 24 hours on a charge and even if you stream music over 3G for part of the day, you should get 12 hours to 18 hours per charge. The two exceptions are streaming videos and GPS navigations. They can drain the battery in just three or four hours. Keep a car charger handy for GPS navigation. The camera takes acceptable photos in bright sunlight, although not very sharp or detailed. Indoors, photos can be murky and grainy unless the flash is close to the subject. There is NO front camera for Skype or selfies. Videos are mediocre. Music sounds great with good headphones or bluetooth speakers but thin and shrill through the rear speaker. Add a 32GB micro SD card and the Exceed 2 is a great music player. BOTTOM LINE: The slow 3G data speeds and lack of storage for apps and games limits the Exceed 2 to users who need a phone only for phone calls and texting. For those people, it is a very good choice. NOTE: LG makes a different version of this phone sold as the LG Optimus L70. That version includes 4G data speeds using 4G HSPA+21 which is fast enough to stream videos and movies in areas with a strong 4G signal. May 8, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Decent Phone This phone was what I was looking for at first. However, the new Kit Kat version of Android and LG phones (at least the lower end phones) won't allow the device to read or write to a 128gb micro SD card. To make sure this was the case, I tried the 128gb micro SD card in the LG Optimus Exceed 1 & 2 and it did not read. The phones kept saying the SD card was blank. Because I need a device that will read my high capacity SD card, I gave this phone to my husband and purchased a Samsung Galaxy Legend (a low end prepaid phone) that runs android Jelly Bean and reads and writes to my 128gb SD Card. The Optimus Exceed 2 is $10 cheaper on Best Buy website, so I would suggest getting it from here if it meets your needs. May 7, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Low Cost Device This is a wonderful option for those looking for a low cost Android device. Powered by Android 4.4 (KitKat), the phone is very fast with its dual core processor and has excellent battery life that will last all day with normal usage. The screen is bright and colorful, with Corning Gorilla Glass for durability. The only thing this lacks is a front facing camera. But overall, very highly recommended. April 27, 2014
