What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poor Monitor I bought this monitor from Amazon and within a few days I discovered that it's joy-stick button was not working properly. Recently, I was trying to switch the inputs using the joy-stick button and the monitor turned off. And now I cannot turn it on. It's been just over a year that bought this piece of junk!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Apple MacBook Pro 15" - Alright I purchased 2 of these monitors, after having purchased (and returned) the Apple approved 5K (Model: 27MD5KA-B.AUSA). These are fine and are basically 1/2 the price of the 5K version. The only thing they are missing are: 1) (of course) 5K; 2) No built in camera; 3) No built in speakers; 4) Cannot charge my 2016 MacBook Pro 15" - have to use the charging cable. I just couldn't justify the cost difference, and they both have the plastic look - miles away from my Apple Thunderbolt Display aluminum and glass finish. (oh, Apple, why did you desert us??) I do NOT like the White back (screams plastic - whereas with black, you're not really sure), or the White cords, which calls attention to them. I really wanted a clean-one cord USB-C solution, but when I realized that with any monitor (including the LG 5K that Apple sells), you would have to plug in one monitor to one side of the MBP and the other monitor into the other side of the MBP (no, you can't plug them into the same side), I figured, what's one more cord?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Game Changer I have a 12 inch MacBook to use when on the road. Now as you can imagine this isn't exactly the best way to be productive when back in the office. Now hooking this incredible monitor up to my Macbook using ONE usb-c cable (also charges it at the same time) now my productivity is through the roof. Also to see how crisp every video, photo and the brightness is just incredible. It has caused multiple colleagues to follow suit and they are also delighted, A must buy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Monitor I don't know why other people are complaining. Me and a colleague both have this monitor and it works perfectly! I have tried 3 other 4k monitors (Samsung, HP, Acer) but this one is the best! It works right out of the box. The stand is great. A lot of the other stands on most 4k monitors are cheap or not sturdy. This monitor has the menu button on the bottom to switch inputs easily. I can switch between my MacPro connected with a DisplayPort cable, my 2016 MacBookPro 15" with touch bar using USB-C and a 2013 MacBookPro 15" with HDMI. No problems switching between them and all work great! I have no wake problems, no flickering problems. Another cool feature that I haven't seen on any other 4k/UHD monitors is the extra USB 3 inputs. One has quick charge so I can charge a speaker, my phone or iPad. The color is great!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk, Won't Wake Up Bought this back in late December for my new Apple MBP w/ Touchbar. This monitor has been a nightmare: won't wake up from sleep, you can hear static discharge from the USB-C cable when you unplug it, flickering, turns off (or on) at strange times, self-adjusting brightness that always fails to please. Do yourself a favor and buy something else. All that said, great picture when it chooses to work! About 10% of the time!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bugidisplay with cheap design I got this monitor and I sold it away cause it did not work properly. I have new 13" MacBook Pro with USB-C and also 12" MacBook Pro and I used this display with both computer and they have serious problems. 1.) Original USB-C wire didn't work so I had to buy new and after this some problems was gone. 2.) I am using my computer clamshell mode and I use separate keyboard and mouse. When I tried to wake-up display from sleep the computer woke up but not LG display. So I have to connect and disconnect cable manytimes per day. 3.) when I took USB-C cable from my computer after this my computer crash time to time. 4.) With 12" MacBook display was flickering every 10seconds! So I couldn't use display with MacBook. 5.) Display got extremely bright white light down in display and it is flashing when it goes sleeping. So if this display is same place where you are sleeping or room which should be relaxing this LG is destroying that! You can't take that fiction away. I also contact LG support and it was Awful! I heard that it's not working at all and no I have my own experience from that. It is Horrible! I also google display and other user are experience similar problems whit this display. So I don't recommend this display even some reviews are saying that this display is good. NO IT'S NOT. DON'T Buy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4K that works great out of the box I brought this monitor home expecting to have to do the usual configuration to get the resolution to 4k at 60Hz, but everything booted up at the proper resolution the first time. My monitor is connected to an HP Spectre x360 15.6".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from YES! I did charge I bought this to go along with my new late 2016 MBP with usb-c. It does charge after the 10.12.2 update. Albeit, very slow but I don't care. One cable life rocks! I do wish the USB was 3.1, but I can live with it 3.0 for what I needed. Sound works as well.

I bought this Monitor for my 2017 MacBook Pro with touch bar.  I planned to use two USB-A at the back of the monitor as the USB hub.  But they are not reading my flash drive and not connecting to my mouse.  Why is that? How do I use the USB-A port?

It offers up to 60 watts of power over USB-C to power a notebook computer, so you will need to check how much your MacBook Pro draws to determine if it will charge it. The 2016 MacBook only supports 30 Hz out of the box for 4K resolution and on its support page, Apple makes it known that 4K resolution is limited to 30 Hz, however, it is possible to enable 60 Hz at native 4K resolution using an easy-to-apply IOKit patch...^IFV
