The hottest thing in cold clean

Using the cold cycle on your washer doesn’t have to mean compromising. ColdWash™ technology uses cold water and enhanced washing motions to penetrate deep into fabrics, giving you cold water savings with warm water performance.

Catch the wave

If you thought water had done all it could to clean your clothes, you haven't experienced WaveForce™ technology. Rapid drum movement and powerful water jets provide a revolutionary washing and rinsing experience.

Get wise

Get wise

If you ever experience an issue with your LG washer, you don't have to worry. The SmartDiagnosis™ feature helps the service center diagnose problems over the phone, or with a simple app on your smart phone, helping you minimize costly, inconvenient service calls.

Count on it

When you buy a washer, you want something reliable that you can count on. Because the Direct Drive Motor uses fewer moving parts and operates more efficiently, LG confidently backs the motor with a 10-year limited warranty.

Wash in peace

You shouldn’t know your washer is on when you're in the next room. The LG TrueBalance™ anti-vibration system is designed to minimize washer noise and vibration for smooth, quiet performance in any room of the house - even on the 2nd floor.

Save money. Save energy.

Save money. Save energy.

When your washer uses about 30% less energy and half the amount of water used by regular washers, you’re going to make an impact—on your utility bills, your energy and water consumption, and most importantly, the environment.

What People Are Saying

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 837 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by This washer is fun.... This is my 4th washer in my lifetime that I have purchased. Washing clothes is about as exciting as watching paint dry....until I got the LG top load washer. I have never seen how the inside works before and well frankly it was kind of fun watching how the washer senses the cloths and then cleans them thru each cycle. The best part is there is more room in the LG than the "other guy" without having that big center agitator. I have always had a 4.7 cy ft and still could never wash my bed quilt. I always had to go to the commercial laundry to have it done. Well not anymore. I washed my quilt and it came out amazing. Not only did I save money but I saved time and time is so precious. Thank you LG for making a daily chore so pleasurable. August 3, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good but not great This is our 2nd top load high efficiency washer. The drawer to put in the detergent is inconvenient and we tend to forget to close it. There is no delicate cycle so I have had to create my own. The clothes bunch up much more in this one than the one we replaced. I just hope this one lasts longer than our old one. I guess for the money it was okay but I think they could have designed it to be more user friendly. August 2, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great value and Features So far I've used all the settings and it works great. I like that you can see what's going on in the washer. I like the ability to change options and try out different settings for different loads. July 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Washes well, very quiet, lots of features Washes very well, and uses very little water. This machine is very quiet too. Has lots of features but haven't used all of them yet. Does seem to get off balance a lot, but otherwise no complaints. July 20, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Brilliant design I've had this LG washing machine since October, 2013. I love how quiet it is. I love how much water is spun out of the clothes on the Extra High spin speed. The dryer almost takes no time now. The coldwash option is very good. I wash darks and colors in cold, and this cycle gets everything clean. I like the customizable settings (I can use "extra water" for loads that are very large). The detergent and softener dispensers are very easy to clean. I've noticed a reduction in the water bill with this washer. It just sips water. The waveforce idea is great for heavy things like comforters - I can see through the glass lid what's happening. It gently spins and shoots water into the comforter without being too harsh on it. All in all, I'm VERY happy with my LG. July 14, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Pleased So Far Enjoy the extra capacity compared to the front loader we were using. Much easier to load and unload. Like the fact that it doesn't "eat" small articles of clothing like the front loader. Clothes do seem to wrinkle a bit more though. July 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love this washer. I have had this washer for almost 2 months now. It is great. My clothes are coming out clean and smelling fresh. July 5, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 Great washer except problems with unbalanced loads Washer works great for most loads. However, have had problems with bed sheets and also jeans/pants causing unbalanced loads. And when it tries to self-recover, it wastes water and time, and I end up having to pull out the wet clothes and re-distribute them myself. If I could solve this problem, I would be happy. i have washed my king size comforter in mine and it was fine. the only thing is make sure that the comforter is evenly put inside so that it doesn't hit the sides of the machine when it spins.

You can definitely wash a king size comforter. I've washed a king size quilt, along with king size sheets and all the pillow cases and pillow shams. Does a great job.

Answer:
We appreciate your interest in this washing machine. It may be possible to wash this comforter. It is difficult to say about this particular comforter, as they can vary in size and thickness. It is first recommended to check and confirm the washing instructions of the comforter in question. Second, if the comforter can be washed if it can be placed in the wash tub with sufficient room to tumble and yet not get out of balance.

I've read reviews that said this machine didn't handle small loads well, getting off balance, and taking a lot of babysitting to finish the cycle, was that possibly user error? Or does the machine have a minimum load recommendation?

Answer:
We did purchase this machine back in May and have washed a whole bunch of cloth diapers with no problems. Our routine for cloth diapers is: rinse/spin cycle with an extra rinse. Followed by hot wash (add the detergent here) heavy soil, and 2 extra rinses. Then I occasionally will do one more rinse spin at the end. I use the custom cycle setting to store the wash cycle we use for diapers. I haven't had any issues with small load sizes. The one thing I've found, is that if I'm only washing a couple things they need to be similar fabrics, or the machine will get imbalanced. We haven't had any problems with our water resistant wet bags or diaper covers either, they seem to slosh around just fine and get clean. The only thing I've noticed with that is if there is too much water in the machine they will just float at the top and not get agitated as much, so as long as the extra water setting isn't selected it seems to be fine. We go through lots of little laundry and love our washer!

Answer:
I have only had HUGE issues trying to wash smaller loads. The "load sensing" often takes 30+ min and sometimes even then the washer won't start. This washer is NOT IDEAL for washing diapers or small loads. often the water saving design seriously compromises the ability to get items clean. If you have small children I don't recommend this washer because you will spend the rest of your life trying to outsmart the washer so it will actually maybe get stains out.

Answer:
I have not had any issues with small loads. I live alone - so I never have that much to do - and sometimes I through one item in. There is a cycle for small loads - runs about 35 min. This machine balances itself before it starts washing (which was weird at first!!) but I have never had it go off balance.

Answer:
I think this machine does a fantastic job with all load sizes. I have washed a single item and I have filled it to capacity. It's great (except don't ever wash anything water-resistant or water-proof - read the manual - on that count it's a technology paradox I cannot begin tor resolve). But it will do its load balancing routine on any size load. It might say "add garments" but that is just saying you CAN - not that you MUST.

no delicate cycle?

I currently have a 11 year-old front-loader that is wearing out. I wash my own dress shirts and I've heard top-loaders wrinkle these badly, as there is no delicate cycle (which I use for my dress shirts). Are there any comparable cycles on the top-loaders? Is the Perma-press cycle the most gentle option available?

Answer:
You are correct, there isn't a "delicate" cycle. However you can use the "wool" cycle or the "baby clothes" and you can customize a wash cycle at anytime and even save a preferred cycle that you might use frequently instead of one of the pre-programmed settings. Love this machine!
