Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps on trucking Purchased the portable A/C about 4 months ago. Hurricane Ian messed up our high-rise in North Naples and we have been without central air since last year. The schedule for installing our A/C is months out. We were able to move back in on December 31, 2022, and determined that we had to do something before the serious heat showed up. We bought and installed the LG portable in early February (pretty easy install as long as you have enough panels for 7' sliding doors.) It has worked constantly since then. We asked a lot from this little unit since it is advertised to cool 450 square feet and we have 2,000. It's performance has bee flawless so far, and we have never had to empty water from the unit (the evaporation aspect has been great, it just blowsit out with the hot air from the unit.) Easy to clean the filters once you figure them out. With our overhead fans also working constantly, we have bee able to live in our unit. Were we to stay longer with heat increasing, we would have purchased another unit or two. However, we are heading back North in a few days. 5 stars!!

How often do I need to drain the unit on AC mode.

How often you will need to drain the LG 10,000 BTU DUAL Inverter Smart Wi-Fi Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP1419IVSM will depend on your relative humidity level and the air temperature. The maximum amount of water vapor that can be in the air depends on the air temperature. Warmer air can hold more water vapor within it. That's why the muggiest days usually happen at the height of summer heat. But as the temperature goes down, the air can hold less vapor and some of it turns into liquid water. When the internal water collection tank for the air conditioner gets full, the LED display will show FL and the air conditioner will turn off until the tank is emptied...^Ivan

Some comments suggest that draining the collection tank is not necessary; others talk about having to elevate the unit to provide the proper “gravity drain.” I’m confused: does this unit or does it not require drainage?

I can't remove the exhaust hose from the unit. When I twist the mounting bracket and try to pull up, only one side moves. I'm afraid that if I force it, it'l break. Suggestions?

The exhaust hose for the LG 10,000 BTU DUAL Inverter Smart Wi-Fi Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP1419IVSM has a mounting ring that has two lines on it that have to align when snapping it in place on the Portable Air Conditioner. To remove the hose move it so that the lines are not aligned...^Ivan

The Window Venting Kit that comes with the LG 10,000 BTU DUAL Inverter Smart Wi-Fi Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP1419IVSM is designed for installation in most vertical-sliding windows 23” to 60” wide, or horizontal-sliding windows from 23” to 60” high. Since there is no auto setting, is it supposed to turn off when it reaches the desired temperature? Mine keeps blowing cold air. I'm basing the room temperature from what the app is telling me the indoor temperature is but it doesn't turn off regardless

Our air conditioners with an Energy Saver mode will turn the fan and compressor off when they reach the set temperature and they have sensors that will check the room temperature approximately every three minutes to see if further cooling is needed. The LG 10,000 BTU DUAL Inverter Smart Wi-Fi Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP1419IVSMdoesnot have an Energy Saver mode it does not turn the fan and compressor off when it reaches the set temperature...^Ivan

Can I use it without installing a hose?

The flexible hose has to be connected to the LG 10,000 BTU DUAL Inverter Smart Wi-Fi Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP1419IVSM so the moisture-laden hot air can be vented to the outside from the room you are looking to cool. Without the hose attached, you would just be circulating that hot, moisture-laden air back into the room so it will not cool and will feel sticky from the recirculated moisture...^Ivan

Most portable AC units now have EER and/or CEER values but I do not find this information in any of your online information or product manual. What are these numbers for the LG Model # LP1419IVSM?

Depending on whether you use the 10,000 BTU US DOE STD Cooling BTU Performance for the LG 10,000 BTU DUAL Inverter Smart Wi-Fi Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP1419IVSM or the 14,000 BTU ASHRAE 128 STD Cooling BTU Performance, the unit will have an EER of 7.3 or 10.22. EER is how many BTUs per hour are used for each watt of electrical power it draws...^Ivan

Will it fit a 78 inch vertical sliding door? Curious if (1) the window seal extends that long, and (2) it the hose can be rotated to be vertical, instead of its current horizontal position

The Window Installation Kit for the LG 10,000 BTU DUAL Inverter Smart Wi-Fi Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP1419IVSM is designed for installation in most vertical-sliding windows 23” to 60” wide, or horizontal-sliding windows from 23” to 60” high. It is not designed for installation in sliding doors and there is no installation kit offered for sliding doors. For the best results, you should keep the vent hose as short and straight as possible, however, shape the diffuser end of the vent hose into an inverted U shape just inside the window to allow any rain or condensation to drain out the window...^Ivan
