What people are saying
Rated 5 out of 5 by from LW1216ER excellent choice I have not used a window A/C unit in about 35 years, so I was pleasantly surprised that this unit was so quiet and rattle free. The installation was fairly easy even though my double hung windows are aluminum and the instructions were not for this type window. I bought this unit to cool my double car garage which is about 22' x 22'. Where I live in South Texas, the summer temperatures are running from about 97 to 103 degrees every day and night time temps are staying in the 80's. I set the A/C's thermostat at 84 and it has maintained that temp constantly. I have a digital thermometer mounted about 5 ft. high and about 20 ft. away from the unit, so it confirms the whole areas temperatures very well. The remote control does not work well across the garage because there are storage racks and a car in the way. Also the remote control does not tell you what mode the unit is in. That information is displayed on the unit itself, not on the remote. I would recommend this unit, especially for its' price and performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet. Easy to use. I bought this a month ago and am happy that I did. This is my second LG air conditioner and it's a great product.

Does this unit have a drain plug in the base pan?

Asked by: Tiann
This air conditioner is equipped with a slinger fan. The fan has an outer ring that runs in the water that collects in the base pan if it gets deep. That condensate is then picked up by the fan and expelled through the condenser, making the air conditioner more efficient.

Hi, I have a window opening of 26"Wx16'H. I understand the opening states 27" so that you can put your hands around it, but would I be able to install the left and right curtains? Basically 2 5/8", or 1 1/4' on either side.

Asked by: davejase
The minimum window opening of 27" that the LG 12000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW1216ER is the minimum space required for the left and right guide panels that have the curtains attached can fit into...^IFV

Where is the LW1216ER manufactured?

Asked by: Ted S
Hi Ted S. LG is an international company with factories worldwide. Parts for the air conditioner can be shipped from various factories in any country in which we have factories and the ENERGY STAR® LG 12000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW1216ER be assembled in a different country or it could be shipped from any country in which we have a factory. The air conditioner will have a nameplate attached on the back that identifies its Country of Manufacture/Country of Assembly and that information will also be on the carton that the air conditioner is shipped in...^IFV

Hello. My window is not quite 24.75 inches wide, but the inner space can accommodate the "wings" of a unit for almost another 1.5 inches,  Will that combination accommodate the LW1216ER / 12,000? Also, can I use a NO-DRILL bracket? Thanks.

Asked by: DOKENN
Hi DOKENN. The ENERGY STAR® LG 12000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW1216ER has a width of 23 5/8" and is designed to be installed in standard single-hung or double-hung windows with actual opening widths from 27" to 39". The reason for the recommended opening widths is that you have to attach the left and right frame guide that have the curtains on them that you need to close any gaps between the air conditioner and your window frame after installation and for ease of installation. Your current width of 24 3/4" would only leave you with an opening of 9/16" on either side of the air conditioner to work with, probably less if your window is not quite 24 3/4". That is an extremely narrow opening and you will not be able to get your hands around the unit to install it, but you definitely will not be able to attach the left and right frame guides to use the curtains. The unit weighs 81 lbs and that will be another concern when attempting to install the unit if you are not able to get your hands around it to install it...^IFV

Anyone experienced an issue regarding the compressor continuing to run even after unit is powered down? It never cycles, runs constantly even with the thermostat set over 83!it's as if there's a relay switch stuck. 3 year old unit, been thoroughly cleaned

I just purchased your LW1216ER air condition, when on energy saver mode it turns on then off after a few seconds it does this repeatedly then it will go back on and run for a while. My old one which this one replaced didn't act like this

Do I need a window support for this air conditioner.

Asked by: Judith48
Yes, you need a support bracket. Go to Home Depot, with the model number you can ask an agent about the support bracket that will hold the unit.
