Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job! I bought this air conditioner in the middle of a sweltering heat wave- it had become impossible for me to sleep at all! I was desperate for relief and this air conditioner did the job. The price was good. It was really easy to install in the older window of my house and rapidly cooled down the room. I like the remote control. It ran constantly through the next three days. I was able to sleep. Thank you for this product.

Worked fine but now it’s spraying water when I turn it on. Should I return this???

Asked by: MDL58
Have you cleaned the air filter for the LG 6,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW6017R? Water spitting outside is normal, but water spitting inside the house is not normal and is an indication that something is wrong. A dirty air filter can cause the evaporative coils to ice up, and when the ice melts, water may drip from the front of the unit, and the force of the fan may turn the drip into a spray. You should wash or change your air filter at least once a month or more frequently depending on your air quality. You may also want to check the slope of your air conditioner. Wall and window air conditioners are installed with a slight slope to the outside so that water will flow that way. If the unit slopes toward the inside because of improper installation or shifting, water can collect in the front of the drain pan and spill over. Check the slope with a level, and correct it if necessary. The other cause for the unit spitting water on the inside may be due to ice on the evaporative coil...^IFV

Does this unit have side panels? By side panels, I mean those things on both sides of the AC that you extend to fill the sides of the window (looks a bit like an accordion). Every picture of this product online doesn’t show the side panels

Asked by: Lauralovesac
Those things on both sides of the air conditioner that are also referred to by some as accordion curtains are listed as the Left Guide panel and the Right Guide panel and they come as included accessories with the LG 6,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW6017R, and all other LG Window Air Conditioners...^IFV

What are the timer lengths ? F1 F2 F3 and so on. I know some of them go off and on at different times. Thanks in advance.

Asked by: Jetta951
Hi Jetta951. 'F1', 'F2', and 'F3' on the LG 6,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW6017R are not timer lengths. Those are the speed settings for the fan speed. 'F1' is Low, 'F2' is Medium and 'F3' is High. The Delay ON/OFF Timer can be used to set the air conditioner to automatically turn On/Off from 1 to 24 hours. When the air conditioner is off, you can set the Delay ON to automatically turn it on from 1 to 24 hours later at its previous mode and fan settings. When the air conditioner is on, you can set the Delay Off to automatically turn it off from 1 to 24 hours later...^IFV

I am not sure where water is going out from the AC. I have another 8000 BTU that throws a lot water. I wonder if it is going inside the wall or does it do something special and recycle the water inside. If I remove the unit from wall, there is water.

Asked by: ajitsingh
This unit does not, I repeat NOT remove the water.  It sits in the outside encasement and collects debris and it festers to mold and what not.  Then it ruins the remote sensors and will no longer operate with the remote.  You must drill holes in the lower outer casement and let the water drain.  Absolutely not what is adverised.

Remove the air filter from the front grille by pulling the filter forward and then up slightly. Wash the filter using lukewarm water below 104 degrees. Gently shake the excess water from the filter and replace.
