What people are saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn’t Work Out of box, purchased two years ago, brand new, just installed, and fan doesn’t kick on, no operation, very disappointed

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Had the 5,000 BTU model, this one is not as cold. I don’t know how to explain it, but this 6,000 btu unit is actually warmer than the 5000 btu unit I upgraded from. Only thing I can think of is that the digital screen adds more heat from the unit opposed to the 5000 non digital analog knob set up.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cycles On & Off Every 3 Minutes Bought this to cool our MBR on second floor that is always 10° hotter than rest of house. Installation fairly straightforward and does a good job of cooling BUT..... • Nothing in pre-sale information tells you that in energy saving mode the unit cycles on to see if cooling is needed then immediately cycles off if not needed. This is extremely annoying. It should have a much longer cycle. Also doesn't seem to be energy efficient with so much on/off. So just set to cool with fan on low. • If you do use the energy savings mode, evertime it cycles on and off there is a very loud, distinct water gurgling sound. There is no drain for newer versions of this model because of the "slinger" fan function. That option really needs to return particularly for units used in high humidity locations where the water will accumulate in the base pan so more water noise. • This unit is not all that quiet. Louder than a regular fan. • Fan on low still blows way too hard. With bed almost 10 feet away, and even having air supposedly deflected away, the amount of air that blows directly on you is uncomfortable. • Timer delay function is useless because you have to set it everyday. Need to be able to set it so you can have continual on/off schedule. This unit would probably be fine if NOT used in a bedroom.

Does this unit have side panels? By side panels, I mean those things on both sides of the AC that you extend to fill the sides of the window (looks a bit like an accordion). Every picture of this product online doesn’t show the side panels

Asked by: Lauralovesac
Those things on both sides of the air conditioner that are also referred to by some as accordion curtains are listed as the Left Guide panel and the Right Guide panel and they come as included accessories with the LG 6,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW6017R, and all other LG Window Air Conditioners...^IFV

What are the timer lengths ? F1 F2 F3 and so on. I know some of them go off and on at different times. Thanks in advance.

Asked by: Jetta951
Hi Jetta951. 'F1', 'F2', and 'F3' on the LG 6,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW6017R are not timer lengths. Those are the speed settings for the fan speed. 'F1' is Low, 'F2' is Medium and 'F3' is High. The Delay ON/OFF Timer can be used to set the air conditioner to automatically turn On/Off from 1 to 24 hours. When the air conditioner is off, you can set the Delay ON to automatically turn it on from 1 to 24 hours later at its previous mode and fan settings. When the air conditioner is on, you can set the Delay Off to automatically turn it off from 1 to 24 hours later...^IFV

I am not sure where water is going out from the AC. I have another 8000 BTU that throws a lot water. I wonder if it is going inside the wall or does it do something special and recycle the water inside. If I remove the unit from wall, there is water.

Asked by: ajitsingh
This unit does not, I repeat NOT remove the water.  It sits in the outside encasement and collects debris and it festers to mold and what not.  Then it ruins the remote sensors and will no longer operate with the remote.  You must drill holes in the lower outer casement and let the water drain.  Absolutely not what is adverised.

Remove the air filter from the front grille by pulling the filter forward and then up slightly. Wash the filter using lukewarm water below 104 degrees. Gently shake the excess water from the filter and replace.

While I like the unit and it performs well, I find that in high humidity condensation collects on the metal front underside and drips down on the window sill. I have put a rolled up towel wedged the front, but wonder if I am doing something wrong.
