Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good features I bought this to cool our 10 x 14 bedroom. When I turn it on at night the room gets cool. But during the night the room warms up even though the A/C is running but the compressor is not running just the fan. Appears the set temp. of 60 degrees does not actually take the room down to 60. Maybe thermostat location in the A/C unit. Roger Horton

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I bought this about 6 months ago and its been working great but all of a sudden it has started to come on and off constantly to the point where I can't even use it anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best window air conditioner I've ever owned! I bought this air conditioner a few months ago for my bedroom and it has so many plus's I can't name them all. My girl friend loves that the outlet vents are on the top which doesn't blow the cool air directly on her like our last one did which made her uncomfortable when she slept. I love that this is a quiet running air conditioner and I especially love how quietly it starts starts and stops while running in the energy mode. I would buy this air conditioner again in a heartbeat.

How. Much does it Cost to run 12 hours a day ?

Asked by: Con420
Hi Con420. The cost of running this LG 6,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW6017ER for 12 hours a day will depend on your utility rates. The unit has a power consumption of 520 watts per hour (i.e. 0.52 kWh). Check your utility bill to see what your utility company charges you per kWh and use that to calculate how much it will cost you to run this unit for 12 hours a day...^IFV

What is the starting watts required for this AC when first powered on? I may need to run this off a generator and need the max watts it may consume.

Asked by: LPes
Hi LPes. Based on its EER (Energy Efficiency Rating) and its BTU Performance rating of 6,000 BTU, the LG 6,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW6017R has a running wattage of 520 watts (i.e. 0.52 kW). Regrettably, the starting wattage is not listed in the specifications. The National Electric Manufacturers Association, NEMA, which is the governing body which sets the standards for the manufacture of electrical equipment in the USA, including electric motors requires that information for the Rated Current, which as the name implies, is the current drawn by the motor when fully loaded which can be used to calculate the starting wattage be included on the motor nameplate for the unit. IT is usually about 1.5 to 2 x more than the running wattage. Regrettably, we do not have access to the nameplate on the unit. Please contact our Support Center at (800) 243-0000 for assistance with a more accurate number for the starting wattage...^IFV

Am I able to install this unit in the wall?

I've had this lw6017r installed & running 3 weeks and now it's making a gurgling sound when the fan stops. It sounds like there's water in a drip pan and the fan will run and push it to one side and when it stops it trickles back down.

Asked by: Trickling Drip Pan
Hello, please be sure you followed the instructions on page 18 in regards to the Drain Pipe for when in high humid weather. If you can not find your manual, please see the link provided. ^AC

Hello. I'm buyer of Korea. I think my current purchase is out of order. Changing the mode or temperature setting will result in the same fan speed. It's not cool at all. I think repair is difficult in Korea. What should I do?

If you are located in Korea and would like to see what repair options there are in your country, we would recommend reaching out to the support team there. You can find their information here: ^CP
