Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great to have I bought my Super Multi Blue Drive and have been using it practically everyday since without any problems. I record Live TV and then record Blu-Ray Disk for play on my LG Blu-Ray Player. I did need to purchase a Blu-Ray authoring program to create video disks, however.

Hello Does it works on Mac? Regards.

Asked by: stefff
I have used it on an iMac with OS X 10.7 and 10.13 (High Sierra). I have burned data blurays with Toast Titanium 10 and 17. Works fine. But I cannot say anything about watching Bluray-movies since I haven't tried it, I guess that needs a third-party program.

Standby Mode?

I noticed there is an on-off switch on this unit. I plan to use it with an HTPC and want the drive to turn on/off with the computer it is plugged in to as I do not want it to remain ON when not in use. Will this detect that the computer is turned off or will i need to physically turn off the drive?
Asked by: bheinz
This drive is designed to take power directly through a USB port. As such, if the computer is deactivated, then the power source of the drive will have also been deactivated. It will therefore not remain powered on.

Is this compatible with RiDATA BD-r DL 4X blanks?

I am thinking of getting the LG external Blu-ray 12x Super Multi Lightscribe rewriter BE12LU30 for PC data backup but not sure which blank discs will work with it. If LG have a list of compatible discs that are known to work well with the above burner, it would make my decision easier.

BE12LU30 Reading DVDs but not Blu-Ray

My BE12LU30 worked great until this morning. Now, it does not appear to be able to read/mount Blu-Rays when hooked up to any computer. I've tried 3 different computers with no luck. DVDs appear to read just fine.

We regret the trouble you appear to have experienced with this drive. It seems that you have already fully troubleshot the drive, in using it with other machines. The unit will likely require service. Please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000

For the External Blu-ray Disc Rewriter, I do install the software before or after connecting the hardware?

Asked by: Anonymous
The software is the burning software, but the drivers required for the operation of the drive are provided by the Operating System, and the software requires installation from the LG drive. As such, the drive should be installed first, before the disc is attempted.

I need a definitive answer: will this drive work with the Mac OS v. 10.7.2 (Lion)?

I have an 24" Intel iMac running OS 10.7.2 and want to be sure the Blu-Ray Rewriter BE12LU30 is compatible.
Asked by: irkulyen
It should work just fine because of Plug and Play.
