What people are saying

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Blue-ray Player I bought this player several months ago. Played one dvd and it worked fine.. Several months later tried to play another movie but it would not play. Now my wife is telling me she wanted to play a movie on her laptop and she asked me about a disk to install this player in her laptop... I told her there was no disk with the package. We have the box and paper work but there was on disk... Is it possible to get this disk. Why the fist movie played I don't know... But it played through just fine and I would recommend it if I can get this problem solved...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid This was only used a couple of times and simply will not work after a recent Windows update. I have spent some time trying to sort it out, but the help pages are no use. The firmware download will not open. There should be a complete guide to updating the drivers and firmware. I will not be buying another LG drive.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Quits in middle of play Got this for BluRay playback - seemed okay - but now while watching a DVD it quits while watching - and starts back at loading the main menu of DVD - its a unreliable drive and it was more exspenive than other makes - disappointed - LG Customer Service wasnt much help either - they had me push the Power Button to reset this unit - had to say, This is not a desktop player, its a mobile reader writer, there is no Power Button - guy said, Oh we dont deal with this type, have to send you to another department - then at transfer they disconnected - (all this after first gave them the model number and serial number ) -

I'm a little confused on the USB cable, is it Mini-USB on one end and standard A-type USB on the other that plugs into the computer?

Asked by: mediaguy333
That is correct. The USB port on the LG 3D Blu-ray Disc Playback & M-DISC™ Support, Model # BP50NB40 is a mini-USB port so the cable that plugs into the drive has to have a mini USB on that end...^IFV

My laptop only has one USB can i plug the "power" usb cord into a powered usb slot on a power strip? is there an alternative to use the power cord?

No, the USB cable would be needed to connect to the computer the disc drive is needing to be used with.

Does this burner play pal or different region movies?

Asked by: natp
Our disc drives doesn’t follow regional code, as long as the media player software that you are using can play/read the disc from other region or can play PAL, then there should be any issue. ^AC
