Cooktop with a great layout!
We are enjoying our new LG gas cooktop. It is a 5-burner unit with controls centered in front. This allows plenty of space for the burners and easy access to the controls. The cooktop is quite shallow and we were able to put in an additiona drawer below it (for flat utensils). The burners light quickly and burn smoothly and efficiently.

Always wanted a gas stove
We bought this when doing our full-gut kitchen remodel. I wanted a gas cooktop--I had been using electric cooktops for the 32 years we lived in our house. It is great! It is easy to light burners; it is easy to control the heat; and our overhead fan unit takes out any odors or gas aromas.
Unfortunately, it is not as easy to clean as my old cooktop was. There are curves and edges that require a little more effort. The stainless steel under the grates needs to be buffed to really shine, but this is just an inconvenience that I wasn't thinking of when I chose the appliance.

Very bad experience
My cooktop was not installed properly. After waiting a few weeks for installation team to come and fix the issue, they came today and said they cannot fix it. I’m beyond frustrated.

Model #LCG3011ST - Does this stove top have the ability to be vented from underneath
The installation instructions for the LG 30” Gas Cooktop with SuperBoil™, Model # LCG3011ST do not specifically require an exhaust hood to vent the cooktop or to vent it to the outside and there is no code requirement under the Gas Safety Regulation which requires a hood for a residential range, although it is recommended. The cooktop cannot be vented from underneath...^Ivan

I just installed this cooktop but the knobs don't light up when they are turned on. The old one, same model, the knobs did light up so you could tell when they were lit. What did I miss in the installation?

I need to replace the medium Burner head what’s the item number and where can I get it
Regrettably, we cannot determine what the part number for the medium burner head for the LG 30” Gas Cooktop with SuperBoil™, Model # LCG3011ST is without a schematic for the Cooktop. It can be ordered from our LG Authorized Parts Distributor affiliate, Encompass Simply Parts, (800) 432-8542, https://encompass.com, and they have a schematic that shows the location of the burners on the Cooktop so they can identify which one is the medium burner and verify that for you before you place your order...^IFV

I was considering replacing our electric cooktop with gas and was looking at LG. There are numerous complaints re: knobs constantly breaking. The response is always "we are looking into it" but never "we are sending new, upgraded replacement knobs." Why?
The reason that our Support Representatives will say that they are looking into it is that they need to determine if the LG 30'' Gas Cooktop with SuperBoil™, Model # LCG3011BD is in warranty or not. The Cooktop comes with a Limited Manufacturer's Warranty of One (1) Year for parts and labor from date of purchase and as stipulated in the terms for the limited warranty, "Should your LG Gas Cooktop ("Product") fail due to a defect in materials or workmanship under normal and proper use, during the warranty period, LG Electronics (“LG”) will, at its option, repair or replace the Product.". If the knobs are proved to be defective within the warranty period, LG will replace them...^IFV

We were really liking the black stainless steel but wanted everything in our kitchen to match. Is this stovetop or any any 30' stovetop come in the black stainless steel?
The LG 30” Gas Cooktop with SuperBoil™, Model # LCG3011ST is only available in the regular Stainless Steel. Regrettably, all the Cooktops that we currently have in our lineup are only available in Stainless Steel or in Smooth Black...^IFV

Why are the control knobs breaking and have they been improved?
I am shopping for a gas cooktop and have considered LG but I have some serious concern about the unstable knobs. Since this is a major purchase, I am cautious about what I am reading in the reviews. Are the knobs plastic or metal? Metal is considerably more durable. Although not every review critiques the knobs, it only takes one time for me to have a bad experience and regret.
The knobs are plastic. The problem is that the cheap plastic of the stems cracks in half and the entire knob then falls off. I have heard that LG will replace them under warranty only one time. They are incredibly expensive to replace as well if purchased thru LG. There are stainless steel aftermarket knobs that are a lot cheaper.

How can I obtain replacement burner location decals and burner knobs?
Accessories can be obtained through our parts distributor, MCM Electronics. Their contact number, for placing orders, is 800-824-9491. You can also use their website, at http://www.mcmelectronics.com/content/en-US/forms/lg_parts. The part number for the cooktop knobs is EBZ60710601. Regrettably, there is no decal for the burner locations available.
