What people are saying

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Features I’ve had the stovetop for over 4 yrs and we had experienced that the burners cooked differently at the same setting. The chrome piece at the front scratches very easily. Really need to watch touching the panel while cooking because they could turn on.

The child lock keeps going on and off. How do i stop it?

Asked by: Niteowl65
Pressing and holding the CHILD LOCK pad for 3 seconds while the LG STUDIO 30” Electric Cooktop, Model # LSCE305ST off allows you to set the Child Lock function. The indicator light above the CHILD LOCK pad will turn on to indicate that the cooktop is locked. To cancel it, you will need to touch and hold the CHILD LOCK for 3 seconds. The indicator light above the pad will go off and the cooktop can then be used normally...^Ivan

We have had to turn off the breaker numerous times to reboot so the cooktop would turn on.  WHY????

Asked by: Stan12
We had the exact same issue for over a year. LG sent a contractor who was unable to fix it, and LG refused to replace the cooktop.

I am trying to figure out the clearance on the bottom, specifically where the deepest part of the cooktop is. The spec sheet says the height is 3.75". Is that only where the plug/conduit comes out? Do you have a photo of the bottom showing the plug?

Asked by: FJ11
All the given dimensions for the LG STUDIO 30” Electric Cooktop, Model # LSCE305ST or for any of our products are taken from the parts that protrude or stick out the most on the product so the given height of 3 3/4" is from the bottom of the cooktop to the cooktop surface. The installation instructions on page 24 of the owner's manual caution that "It is very important to keep 2 3/4” (70 mm) distance between the cooktop and the oven. We do not have any pictures of the bottom of the unit showing where the power cord exits the unit. This unit does not have a plug. It has to be hardwired to a junction box. Page 23 of the owner's manual has illustrated diagrams of the unit with all the dimensions that you may want to review for the installation. The instructions also state to allow 2" (50mm) space below the armored cable opening to clear the electric cable and allow space for the installation of the junction box on the wall at the back of the cooktop. You can download and review or print out a PDF copy of the owner's manual from our site at https://www.lg.com/us/support/product/lg-LSCE305ST.ASTLLGA...^IFV

How high to I mount hood over this cook top

Asked by: Dtcr
We appreciate your interest in this cooktop stove. A minimum of 30 inches should be available between the surface and the bottom of the vent hood. Any other measurement, exceeding this spacing, will depend upon the vent hood in use.

What are the best pots & pans that should be used with this cooktop?

Asked by: 206area
The better the pot, the better the cooking results. You can recognize good pots and pans by their bases. The base should be as thick and flat as possible. Cookware must fully contact the surface of the cooking element. Use flat-bottomed pans sized to fit the cooking element and amount of food being prepared. Check for flatness by rotating a ruler across the bottom of the cookware. Pots with aluminum or copper bases can cause metallic discoloring on the ceramic glass surface which is very difficult or impossible to remove. Additional suggestions can be found on pages 8-9 of the owner’s manual.
