Four Reasons to Buy an LG Dishwasher

Three Reasons to Buy an LG Dishwasher

Put Enhanced Cleaning in Motion

Achieve maximum cleaning coverage throughout the entire cycle with LG’s new QuadWash™ system. With four spray arms instead of just two, QuadWash™ also includes Multi-Motion arms that rotate back and forth while spinning. The high-pressure jets power-clean dishes from multiple angles to reach every nook and cranny.

Count On It

When you buy a dishwasher, you want something reliable that you can count on. Because the Direct Drive Motor uses fewer moving parts and operates more efficiently, LG confidently backs the motor with a 10-year warranty.

Easy Loading & Maximum Flexibility

The newly-enhanced EasyRack™ Plus system provides outstanding flexibility and convenience, adjusting to just about any load of dishes to help ensure optimal cleaning performance. Easy to adjust on-the-fly, this racking system can shift to handle any challenge your dishes can serve up.

Quiet Operation

LG's technological advances, like the Inverter DirectDrive motor and the advanced self-cleaning filtration system, were designed with quiet in mind. At 48dB, this dishwasher is among the quietest dishwashers in its class.

What People Are Saying

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cleans well, rack configuration poor The manual was less than wonderful so it took a while to figure out how to use it, but once we did it cleaned very well. The racks, especially the lower rack are configured poorly. There's a big open space in the middle which is hard to use.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worked well for a year - then didn't I purchased this machine from Home Depot on July 9, 2017 and it was delivered installed on August 9, 2018. On January 10, 2019 the dishwasher stopped powering on at all - no response from the touch panel whatsoever. Thankfully, I purchased a SquareTrade Warranty in the "unlikely" event this happened but believe it is unfortunate that an extended warranty is a necessity when making big purchases like these. Overall, the machine worked well but designing a machine with components that fail after 1 year and not including it in the the basic warranty stings a bit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome dishwasher Our two year old whirlpool dishwasher died just before Christmas. Bought the LG and it is way better than the Whirlpool. Quiet, great features and well made. Not cheap and flimsy like our last one. Definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from "No more water spots" In November I updated my dishwasher. My old machine was no longer performing well at all. My dishes and glasses were ALWAYS spotty. I finally purchased a new LG machine and it was the greatest Thanksgiving give to me. NO more spots and the dishes feel cleaner. They do not have a "film" feeling. Thank you.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Frustrating Dishwasher We purchased this dishwasher in Nov 2016. It worked really well for about 1-1/2 years, then began have problems. When the dishwasher was turned on it would run through a partial cycle and then act like it was finished, but wasn't. The end of cycle chime would signal but cycle was incomplete. After several days I called a service company to check it out. After the men came out, I was told by them to call LG and request a control panel (which would still be under warranty - 5 years for control panel). Also was told to turn off the circuit breaker, wait 10 minutes and try again, this worked as a temporary fix. An email from LG informed me to upload a copy of proof of purchase. After submitting we heard nothing from LG. The dishwasher decided to work for a few months, then began to stop or work off and on again. Called LG again and was told that I had to call only LG approved service companies to prove that it was the control panel that was the problem, this would of course cost us another service call. After several phone calls we decided to turn the circuit breaker off and on again, since we were leaving town for the holidays and the service company that was recommended would not be able to complete the call and order a part before we left home. I now have a long list of dates and times that the dishwasher does not complete a cycle or won't come on at all. The control panel in front has blinked frequently, even flashed like Christmas lights, a random single chime also goes off, the full end of cycle chime goes off at random times and does not mean the cycle is finished, and water has been left in the bottom of the tub. It is a pain to have to go to the garage and turn off the circuit breaker, wait at least 10 minutes, often two times just to get the dishes washed. I't now been 2 years and again today the dishwasher won't work, circuit breaker had to be turned off twice for 10 minutes. Finally began cycle, still waiting for it to finish, keeping our fingers crossed. We would not recommend this model. We were told not to buy an LG produce, but didn't listen to good advice.

What is wrong or what type of a suggested fix is needed when in the middle of the cycle the machine flashes all lights on the control panel, no codes, stops working, and beeps? It even did this at the end of the cycle.

Asked by: Kim Nilson
This dishwasher is faulty. Mine had the same issues but within warranty. LG had to replace the entire control panel. Now, one month after extended warranty has expired it’s doing it again and LG could care less. Clearly LG is aware of this issue with all of the same complaints. Terrible service.

Had this dishwasher for a couple of months. In the past 2 weeks, it has intermittently stopped running. It starts making chime sounds randomly, and shuts off. Is this a known issue? It almost seems like buttons are being pressed, but they aren't. Help!

Ours just started having the same issue! How can we get support if we don't do twitter?

is this a plug in

Asked by: rontko
Operate this appliance with the correct voltage as shown in this manual and on the rating plate. Connect it to a dedicated, properly grounded branch circuit which is protected by a time delay fuse. Connect the appliance using 3-wires, including a ground wire. ^CP

Where is the heating element on a LG LDS5540st dishwasher.   Marilyn

Asked by: MCRackley
Hi Marilyn. The LG Front Control Dishwasher with QuadWash™ and EasyRack™ Plus, Model # LDF5545ST does not rely on a heating element for the drying process; instead, it uses a Hybrid Drying System which relies on the heat that is retained by the dishes and the tub during the wash and rinse cycles to turn the moisture in the tub into humidity. Warm, moist air in the dishwasher is then pulled into a condensing duct in the door by a fan. The air then cools, which causes the humidity to condense. Room temperature air is also drawn into the duct to help the air cool down faster. When this moisture condenses into a liquid, it is drained out...^IFV

Purchased this dishwasher less than a month ago. We have tried all recommended settings but cannot get the dishes to dry even the slightest bit. Any suggestions on what we might be doing wrong ?

Asked by: Brandyaxid
Hi Brandyaxid. The drying performance of your LG Front Control Dishwasher with QuadWash™ and EasyRack™ Plus, Model # LDF5545BB works properly. It should be connected to a hot water supply with a temperature range between 120°F (49°C) and 149°F (65°C). This temperature range provides the best washing results and shortest cycle time. To prevent damage to dishes, the temperature should not exceed 149°F (65°C). s directly affected by the amount of heat that remains in the tub after the heated rinse is performed. If your dishwasher is far away from your home’s hot water heater, it may be necessary to run the hot water tap in the sink before starting a wash cycle, to ensure that cool water is purged from the hot water lines. This will ensure your dishwasher has a consistent supply of hot water from start to finish. Using the High Temp setting also aids in keeping the inner drum temperature and dishes hotter before drying begins. LG dishwashers are designed to be used in conjunction with a rinse aid. Using a rinse aid will maximize the amount of water that has already been sheeted away from the dishes before the dry cycle begins. If a rinse aid is used and the performance still needs a boost, adjust the amount of rinse aid used. 3 is the default setting, but if necessary set the level to 4 so more rinse aid is used. Water tends to bead rather than sheet off the plastic and nonstick surfaces, making them more difficult to dry. If washing plastic items in a Normal cycle, select the Extra Dry or Night Dry option or both for better drying results. When the rinse aid is empty, the Extra Dry or Night Dry options are selected automatically. Allow the dishwasher to completely finish the dry cycle before opening the door. If the door is opened in the middle of the dry cycle, the heat that is necessary for the hybrid dry system to work will escape. This will cause all of the dishes inside to remain wet once the cycle finishes...^IFV
