Beautiful, functional dishwasher!
This dishwasher was a little hard to figure out at first. I love the top rack, even though I forget things are in there sometimes. I gave it four stars because it does not hold nearly as much as my last dishwasher. The racks can fold down and they sometimes tip over and the middle of the bottom rack doesn't have any racks at all. Cups tip over and break in this dishwasher. Also, the bottom corner was damaged during shipping and it has a small leak I didn't notice for many months.

Very effective
I bought this in Nov 2022 and it has been a good experience so far. The unit cleans well, looks very sleek and is quiet. My only complaint is that the cycles take a long time (3hrs if you select Normal cycle and add Extra Dry, which I usually find necessary)

In the color chart for the LDT7808ST there is one named Stainless and one named Stainless Steel. I'm about to order it and would appreciate your clarification. What's the difference between the two?

The specifications for the LG Top Control Smart wi-fi Enabled Dishwasher with QuadWash™ and TrueSteam®, Model # LDT7808SS list its height at 33 5/8". That height will include the noise dampening blanket across the top of the unit. It has leveling legs that you can use to lower it to a height of 33". The dishwasher is not ADA compliant...^IFV

Does the unit need a countertop air gap or can the connection be made under the sink?
The LG Top Control Smart wi-fi Enabled Dishwasher with QuadWash™ and TrueSteam®, Model # LDT7808SS does not "need" and air gap. It can be connected to a Disposal without an Air Gap or connected to a Waster Tee without an Air Gap or to a Disposal or Waste with an Air Gap. The installation instructions in the owner's manual have instructions for any of those connections. Air gaps are the most effective means of preventing your drain from cross-contaminating your dishwasher with waste. If you want to protect your dishwasher from flooding with contaminated water, you need an air gap. Dishwasher air gaps are also required by plumbing codes in many locations so you may want to check your local building codes to see if it is required in your area. It's required by code in California but some people bypass this requirement and have something called a “High Loop” under their sink...^IFV
