What people are saying

Rated 3 out of 5 by from No Light Why in the world would anyone program the light in the dryer to go out after just 4 minutes (yeah I know, save power/money) !? I have rarely gotten all my clothes out in 4 minutes, even if I hurry! And if you open the door at any other time - yep, no light! Looking for a missing sock? Better grab a flashlight!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dont have all the features figured out just yet Haven't used the steam feature yet, how ever plan to in the near future. I am getting comfortable with the machine and its many features at this time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product, very bad software One of the most useful features of this dryer and its paired washer would be the ability to know when your laundry is finished by using the software. The pairing process is painful, it fails repeatedly, and the app mysteriously and inconsistently loses and regains connections with no intervention at all from the user. I suspect it is not being updated to match the frequent changes in iOS. I like the features and performance overall but what should be a "nice extra" (the software) has become a constant annoyance. At the price points LG sells, this is inexcusable. And the support is terrible. All they respond with is boilerplate quotations from the manuals, as if anyone questioning the problems hadn't even bothered to read and try the recommended solutions. In a word, the support team is useless. I would rate the product 3 or fewer stars if it weren't for the fact that its basic function performs very well. But so do competition models from other companies.

what's required to hookup the dryer? is everything included in the box

Asked by: Ricky Ricardo
Electric Dryers do not come with a power cord and they require venting so if you do not have existing ductwork, you will need to purchase the necessary ductwork locally because it is not provided with the dryer. Venting must conform to your local building codes and you must use only 4-inch rigid or semi-rigid, or flexible metal ductwork inside the dryer and for venting outside. The ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 7.3 cu.ft. Smart wi-fi Enabled Electric Dryer with TurboSteam™, Model # DLEX7800WE has its own terminal block that must be connected to a separate 240 VAC, 60-Hertz, single-phase circuit, fused at 30 amperes (the circuit must be fused on both sides of the line). You can use a 30-amp, 240-volt, 4-wire or 3-wire, UL-listed power cord with #10 AWG-minimum copper conductor and closed loop or forked terminals with upturned ends. 4-wire connection is required for all mobile and manufactured home installations, as well as all new construction after January 1, 1996, and a 4-wire connection must be used where local codes do not permit grounding through the neutral wire. If you are not sure which power cord to use, please consult your local building inspector. If the plug does not fit the outlet, a proper outlet will need to be installed by a qualified electrician. A short and long hose and a "Y" connector are supplied with the dryer so you can share the cold water supply line with your washer for the steam cycles in the dryer...^IFV

Q: Can you see the steam in the DLEX7800 dryer during the steam mode? For example, during Sanitize mode should I be able to see the steam. I do not know how to tell if the steam cycle is working. Q2 How do I know if the steam cycle is working?

Does this dryer have the ability to be put on the LG Laundry Pedestal with storage drawer Model #WDP4W? Wondering if it can be raised up to make unloading the dryer easier. Thank you!

Asked by: Jeanne E

Our LG DLEX 7800 dryer has a repeating chirp or squeak sound when the STEAM cycle starts. The repeating "quick pump, squeak, stop" was also reported at homedepot.com. Q1: Is this sound normal? Also, I do not see steam. Q2: Should I see actual steam?
