Great Dryer
I’ve had my dryer 5 years. No major issues. Our control board just had to be replaced but I had the warranty so I’m guessing it’ll be good for another 5.

Dryer worked great for 3 years
This dryer has been great for the past 3-1/2 years until it suddenly stopped while on steam. We have changed the thermal fuse and it still won’t start up.

For the steam feature where do I pour in the water?
Hello there. There is no water reservoir for the steam function on this model. In fact, this dryer comes with a water hose kit to connect into the cold water hose from the washing machine to the dryer. LG’s steam technology allows you to inject fabrics with a swirling
jet of hot steam to refresh clothes, reduce static, simplify ironing
and assist in the removal of
lightly stained spots. Simply select the STEAM FRESHTM or
SpotClean™ cycle, or you can add a Steam option to select cycles.
Using the STEAM FRESHTM Cycle
STEAM FRESH™ uses the power of steam alone to quickly reduce
wrinkles and odor in fabrics. It brings new life to wrinkled clothes
that have been stored for an extended time and makes heavily
wrinkled clothes easier to iron. STEAM FRESH™ can also be used

Do you have to use the steam setting while drying clothes? Can it be used without water in the reservoir? Is there a simpler 9 cu ft dryer that does not include steam and some of the high end technologies?
The steam feeder in the LG 9.0 cu. ft. Mega Capacity Electric Dryer w/ TrueSteam®, Model # DLEX8100V must be filled with water up to the MAX line before using the steam cycles on the dryer. If not, 'Add' will be displayed, and you need to make sure that the steam feeder is filled with water or the drawer is fully closed. The Steam Fresh™ cycle uses steam alone, or you can add a steam option to selected cycles. If you don't intend to use the steam functions, you can select other cycles other than the Steam Fresh™ cycle or not add the steam option to selected cycles.
We do not have any LG 9.0 cu. ft. Mega Capacity Electric or Gas Dryers that do not have steam cycles or steam options and they all Smart Wi-Fi enabled dryers. Model # DLEX8100V (Electric) and Model # DLGX8101V (Gas) are the only LG 9.0 cu. ft. Mega Capacity Dryers that are not Smart Wi-Fi-enabled dryers...^Ivan

Does this model need it own water line or does it have the drawer for water to use steam? DLEX8100V
The LG 9.0 cu. ft. Mega Capacity Electric Dryer w/ TrueSteam®, Model # DLEX8100W has a steam feeder that has to be manually filled up to the max line with water before using the steam cycles. To fill the steam feeder, you need to pull the drawer out and lift the steam feeder out...^IFV

Does this model come with a dryer rack? Because mine didn't!
The LG 9.0 cu. ft. Mega Capacity Electric Dryer w/ TrueSteam®, Model # DLEX8100V does not come with a Drying Rack as an included accessory. It is listed as an optional accessory on page 9 in your owner's manual and it has to be purchased separately. What is the dimension for the exhaust duct opening from the unit sides as well as height off floor? I would like to provision the opening for the duct behind it and not have to use the flex duct and have it against the wall.
The LG 9.0 cu. ft. Mega Capacity Electric Dryer w/ TrueSteam®, Model # DLEX8100V has a width of 29" and the rear exhaust duct is located in the middle on the back of the dryer and has a 4-inch opening and protrudes by 1 1/2" (3.8 cm) from the back of the dryer. That means the rear exhaust duct will be 12 1/2" from either side of the dryer. Regrettably, neither the specifications not the owner's manual list a measurement for how much above the ground the rear exhaust duct is.
