can i record from a commercial dvd playing onto the sans disk memory stick

Asked by: 1066
The LG DVD Player with USB Direct Recording, Model # DP132 supports USB devices with FAT16 or FAT32 formatting. A USB device that requires additional program installation when you have connected it to a computer, is not supported, and some USB devices may not work with this unit. You can connect a USB Flash drive to the unit and record from an audio CD or record the audio from a DVD. CD-G disc and Audio CDs encoded in DTS cannot be recorded. Please keep in mind that the making of unauthorized copies of copy-protected material, including computer programs, files, broadcasts, and sound recordings, may be an infringement of copyrights and constitute a criminal offense. Since DVD technology preceded Blu-ray technology, it cannot play Blu-ray discs since the technologies are not forward compatible...^IFV

4K UHD Blu-ray, Blu-Ray DVD, and DVD technologies are backward compatible. That means that each technology can playback the technolgies that preceded it. The LG DVD Player with USB Direct Recording, Model # DP132 is a DVD player so the only technology that preceded it was the CD technology so it will play DVDs and CDs, but it cannot play the Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray technologies that succeeded it...^IFV

I have this DVD player, and my daughter actually loves it but unfortunately we have lost three low and cannot hit play without it is there a way that we could play the movie without using the remote?

Asked by: Kam33
Hi Kam33. Regrettably, we are not clear about what the "three low" that you have lost is, but for most DVD-ROM discs, the LG DVD Player with USB Direct Recording, Model # DP132 will automatically start playback. You will still need a remote control to operate the player since it does not have physical buttons for operations other than On/Off and the Open/Close. If you have an Android smartphone, you can search for the LG QuickRemote app in the Google Play Store that you can download and install on the phone to use it as a remote control. For an iOS smartphone, search for the app in the iTunes App Store...^IFV
