What people are saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Was a great monitor until it broke for no reason… I was adjusting the monitor tilt extremely gently last week as I have done frequently and the monitor was completely fine with no issues. I then went to go answer the door and when I returned the monitor had a huge grey bar down the middle ! I am now just outside of warranty (very convenient timing for LG to make their products last) and so I am better off buying a new monitor than fixing it and need to do this asap as I need it for work. Very disappointing, life’s not good when you buy from LG

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Monitor is failing after 3 years of moderate use! Absolutely unacceptable that a high end monitor with such a high price tag could start failing after just 3 years of moderate use. I bought this monitor in 2020 and as of January 2023 my monitor has started to show horizontal lines across the entire screen. After doing some searching online and having read the reviews here it appears to be a common panel issue with their monitor. I reached out to LG about the issue despite being outside the warranty and they expected me to pay hundereds of ££, almost half of what I originally paid for the monitor for it to get sent off to be looked at. Obviously there was no way I was going to do that as there's no grauntee it won't happen again and if I'm going to spend silly amounts of money on a repair I might aswell go and buy a new one! My advice to anyone considering buying this monitor is to not bother, you'll just be wasting your money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful Monitor and Service when the monitor worked it was a great product. then, just outside the 2 year warranty (which is less than the standard offered by alternative suppliers) the monitor died with the classic scan-line, horizontal line issue. no picture is displayed. and LG no longer offer any repair service themselves outside of warranty. so you've effectively bought an expensive paperweight. this is a well known issue with this monitor now! but wasnt when I bought it.

i broke my DP cable for LG 34GK950F-B monitor. what cord should i replace it with so i get my 144hz ultrawide?

Asked by: 9val2
Hi Sval2. Unless the cable is identified as RBR, it is a standard DisplayPort cable and will support all DisplayPort configurations. Despite what you may read, there is no such thing as a DisplayPort 1.1 cable and DisplayPort 1.2 cable. Any DisplayPort cable can be used with the LG 34GK950F-B 34 Inch 21:9 UltraGear™ QHD Curved IPS Gaming Monitor with Radeon FreeSync™. A standard DisplayPort cable is designed to work with any DisplayPort Source device, such as a PC or laptop, and any DisplayPort monitor. This means that a standard DisplayPort cable will work with the very first DisplayPort systems and displays introduced around five years ago, and they will continue to work with the newest and future systems and displays that support multi-stream and display resolutions up to 4K (Ultra HD) at 60Hz. You can also use a standard DisplayPort cable between a PC and a multi-stream hub, or between daisy-chainable multi-stream monitors. You don’t need to worry about getting a special cable to support certain DisplayPort capabilities. The only rare Reduced Bit Rate (RBR) cables on the market that will support only up to 1080p, but these are generally restricted to projector installation applications.exception to this are the a few ...^IFV

Will my gtx 1070 work with everything that the LG 34GK950F-B can do?

Asked by: NASOYMOSO
The LG 34GK950F-B 34 inch 21:9 UltraGear™ QHD Curved IPS Gaming Monitor with Radeon FreeSync™ is not an Adaptive-Sync (FreeSync™) NVIDIA-tested and officially verified G-Sync® Compatible monitor, that Nvidia has tested as one that will deliver a baseline VRR experience on GeForce GTX 10-Series, GeForce GTX 16-Series, and GeForce RTX 20-Series graphics cards, and activate their VRR features automatically. G-SYNC Compatible testing validates that the monitor does not show blanking, pulsing, flickering, ghosting or other artifacts during VRR gaming. They also validate that the monitor can operate in VRR at any game frame rate by supporting a VRR range of at least 2.4:1 (e.g. 60Hz-144Hz), and offer the gamer a seamless experience by enabling VRR by default. For VRR monitors yet to be validated as G-SYNC Compatible, a new NVIDIA Control Panel option will enable owners to try and switch the tech on - it may work, it may work partly, or it may not work at all...^IFV

Will I see a drop in color gamut drop if I use the extended free sync setting, when I pair this monitor with a nvidia GPU? The color gamut has been showed to drop from 135% to 99% SRGB when enabling extended fressync range

Asked by: Fgc11
I found this on the review of this monitor on http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/lg_34gk950f.htm#vrr A note about possible colour drop in Extended FreeSync Mode and how to fix it Once the extended FreeSync setting is enabled, you may notice a drop in the colour gamut of the display, visible to the naked eye. This seems to be a software bug relating to FreeSync as opposed to anything specific to the display. This is easily resolved, as confirmed with several readers. You should make sure you have the latest AMD graphics card drivers and then you need to go in to the colour settings section of the AMD control panel and change the colour temp setting from "auto" to "6500k". You may need a reboot for it to take effect.
