What people are saying

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing quality and design oversight It has crazy vignetting around the whole perimeter. The perimeter of the screen is much darker than the center. Anything at the outside edges of the monitor has a heavy shadow. Confirmed that this is standard and nothing can be done about it. Misleading product imagery. The display area does not go to perimeter. The LED circle on the back. Even if you disable it, it still turns on for about 3 seconds with a rapid color cycle every time you wake up the monitor. It is jarring and seems tacky. If you're trying to go for a clean professional aesthetic it kind of spoils it. Again, there is nothing that can be done to defeat this. The loud g-sync fan! It is louder than my quiet PC and very annoying. It has a very "scratchy" acoustic profile if that makes sense. Ugly rear. No real cable management. All your USB and video cables stick out the rear. Some other monitors do a better job hiding the mess with a panel and routing cables through the monitor stand. My monitor is developing stress cracks on the top bezel even thought it has just been sitting on my desk for the past few months and not touched or fiddled with. Maybe the monitor is just too big and bulky for the frame. No response from LG regarding my inquiry about this.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice for gaming but colour uniformity poor Purchased a week ago Pro’s: Great colours Fast for gaming Seems solid and well built Rgb lighting useful No dead pixels or blb No fan noise Cons: Screen darker top and bottom Screen not uniform - eg on a light background colour changes between white, grey and yellow ... looks dirty and blotchy. Annoying for office work Poor quality control for a monitor at this price

Does LG 38GL950G have a fan ?

Asked by: Hansworst
I own this LG monitor for 2 weeks now and it definately has a fan. I can clearly hear it when I am doing emailing, office work, etc. During gaming it is not hearable (...at least for me). The fan is definately more quite than the fan of the PG35VQ that I tried a few month ago. But if you get constantly disstracted by fans and you want your room to be totaly silent this monitor might be not for you.

Your website finally no longer says "Coming soon." Where and When can I buy this monitor?! Take my money!

Asked by: jonin
Regrettably, we do not sell the monitor directly and it is sold through our retail partners. Inventory for the monitor is proprietary information that only the retailers can give you and you would need to contact them to inquire if they are expecting further deliveries for the monitor and what the estimated time for delivery might be.

what is the maximum refresh rate @8bit with full chroma (4:4:4) ? does it use CVT-R2 blanking times for the audio signal or it is 175Hz capable @8bit, full chroma ?

Asked by: johny_bravo
DisplayPort 1.4 is technically limited to a maximum of about 160hz @ 8 bit at 3840x1600 without chroma subsampling. LinusTechTips has already shown that if u want to run it at 175Hz then chroma subsampling will be used.
