LG Air Conditioner - Understanding E1, E2, or E3 Error Codes

At a Glance

LG makes it easy to diagnose problems with your air conditioner should you run into any issues. If an issue occurs, the air conditioner is programmed to communicate diagnostic messages, displayed as codes, that can usually be resolved by performing a few troubleshooting steps.

    The E1 error code is an AUTO-STOP PROTECTION indicating a short or open circuit in the indoor pipe sensor.

    Try unplugging the unit and waiting 2 minutes for the power to discharge. Then plug the unit back in.

    If the error code reappears, the unit will require a repair service. Please visit our Request a Repair page for further assistance

  • The E2 error code is an AUTO-STOP PROTECTION indicating a short or open circuit in the indoor pipe sensor.

    Unfortunately, there is not any troubleshooting to resolve this error.

  • The E3 error code indicates the unit has detected there is no refrigerant.
