    Stand type

    First way

    1. Place the stand into the rear of the monitor.

    2. Fasten it to the monitor body using the supplied bolts.

    3. If the stand base is shaking, tighten the screw at the bottom by turning it by hand or with a coin.

    Second way

    1. Insert the stand body into the top groove on the back of the monitor.

    2. Press down to secure the stand to the monitor.

    . If the monitor and the stand body are not fixed, then insert the stand body to the top groove for fixing and then press down to secure it.

    Ergo(arm) type

    1. Place the stand body on your desk or table and turn the handle at the bottom to secure it.

    2. After attaching the stand body with the handle, if the screen is not level, then grab the left/right of the monitor gently and adjust the level.

    If the stand body installed in the table is shaking, then turn the handle at the bottom to fix it again

    C-type installation guide: if there are no holes in the desk for cables.

    Basic installation requirements - desk thickness: less than 3.54 inches, desk depth: at least 4.56 inches.

    • The default stand setup is assembled with a C-type grip and included in the box.
    • Installation is not possible if the desk is box-shaped or the top is thicker than 90mm.
    • For safety, make sure to fully insert the grip inside and tighten the screw during installation.
      Installation is not possible if there is a structure protruding from the bottom.

    Install as follows depending on the thickness of the desk.

    1. Desk thickness: 1.57 inches or less; insert the screws into holes 1 and 2.

    • Reassemble with the T-type grip included in the box and install it.
    • Make sure that the thickness is the same on both sides of the installation.

    How to install

    • Remove the screw of the C-type grip and reassemble it with the T-type grip provided in the package.
    • Check the direction of the monitor and install the stand to the cable hole.
    • The direction that the arrow points on the top of the grip indicates the direction that the front of the monitor should face.
    • Assemble the rubber pad and handle and tighten clockwise.
    • The rubber pad is not included separately and should be utilized after separating the components set up inside the C-type grip.

    Electric screwdrivers should not be used.

    • Ergo stand is fixed without levelness to the ground.
    Advantages of the LG Ergo product

    This is a design engineered for users to adjust the monitor at a desired angle and direction.
    Left/right swivel can be changed by a max 280 degrees and up/down tilt can be adjusted by a max 25 degrees.

    How to adjust the levelness of the Ergo stand screen

    After moving the product or adjusting the position, sometimes, the levelness of the screen can be off.
    In this case, grab the side and slowly move it up and down to adjust the levelness.

    The pivot feature allows the monitor to rotate 90° clockwise.

    Warning!

    When rotating the screen to use the Pivot function, do not rotate the screen too strongly or quickly.
    There is a risk of damaging the stand base if the head comes into contact with the stand.
    Be careful as you may injure your finger by jamming it between the head and the desk.

    Precautions when pivoting

    • Automatic display pivot is not supported.
    • You can pivot the display conveniently by using the pivot shortcut key provided by the Windows OS.
      However, the Pivot key may not be supported or the setting may vary depending on the type of Windows OS and graphics card driver.

  3. Operation

    1For the best video and audio quality, it is recommended to use an HDMI cable.

    2When connecting an external device to the monitor, use the cable provided with the external device.

    • If your laptop monitor is small or you have multiple jobs to do, you can connect an external monitor and use two monitors.
    • You can set the external monitor either to have the same screen as the PC monitor by selecting the Duplicate Mode,
      or have a different screen than the PC monitor by selecting the Extension Mode.

    2. Press [Windows] + [P] or [FN] + [F7] keys on the keyboard at the same time.

    To see a more clean and brighter screen, you have to set the resolution to the optimal resolution supported by the monitor.
    If the monitor screen displays the optimal resolution message, then change the resolution and the vertical frequency to the optimal setting.
    To check the optimal resolution for the monitor, you should check the product manual or the homepage with the product information.
    Generally, if connected to the PC, the optimal resolution is automatically selected.

    Monitor's HDR function

    The MBR (Motion Blur Reduction) function is used to make the video softer by reducing the fuzziness of moving images in a game or video.

    How to check MBR operation on the monitor

    It is supported only in the DP (Display Port) and it is available for use only if the vertical frequency of the connected equipment is 120 Hz or 144 Hz.

    Do you want to use a clear screen without disconnections or slowing down?

    G-Sync is used to provide a soft video by removing disconnections and slowing down found in HD game playing.
    Before you can use the function, you must make sure you use an NVIDIA graphics card that supports G-Sync and connect the PC and the monitor with a DP cable.
    If the screen flickers or fails to display correctly when using the G-Sync function, then change [Overclock] of the monitor to [Off].

    The G-Sync function is available for use in the monitor with an NVIDIA graphics card and the G-Sync function.
    If you do not have correct graphics card, then you cannot use it.
    Check the PC specs.

    Go to the [Device Admin] menu for the PC used, and check if the NVIDIA graphics card is used. Go to the homepage of NVIDIA to see if the graphics card supports the G-Sync function.

    1. Right click on your desktop and select [NVIDIA Control Panel].
    2. Go to the [Display] menu and click [Set up G-SYNC].

    Download the latest version of graphics driver program from the homepage of NVIDIA and install it.

    What is HDR (High Dynamic Range)?
    HDR (High Dynamic Range) is a function that shows as close as possible to what the human eye sees, from the brightest place to the darkest place.
    The HDR function works correctly when you connect the monitor to an external device that supports HDR and play the contents that support HDR.
    If the word ‘HDR’ is not displayed on the screen, check the HDR settings on the external device or PC connected to the monitor.
    Note
    • HDR content may not work properly depending on the Windows settings.
      Check the HDR On/Off settings in Windows.
    • When the HDR function is turned on, the character display or picture quality may not be great, depending on the graphics card performance.
    • Depending on the graphics card performance, changing the monitor input or power on/off
      while HDR function is being turned on may cause screen flickering or screen blurring.
    • For HDR support for graphic cards and games, refer to your graphics card and game manufacturers' website.

    How to use LG UltraGear™ Control Center

    1. Double click the background icon.

    2. From the right bottom of your PC display, click the Tray icon and click [Open LG UltraGear™ Control Center].

    How to enable the LED Lighting Mode

    The LG UltraGear™ Control Center provides various mode settings to help users get the lighting effects they want.

    Clicking the mode settings tab will enable users to change the settings to the desired mode.

    • Apply: Applies the chosen mode to the lighting of the monitor.
    • Mode Settings: Selects a desired LED lighting mode.

    The Static mode applies a color chosen by the user to the lighting of the monitor.

    Pressing the [Edit] button will enable you to change the Static mode color to another that you want as follows.
    Changing the color and applying it to the monitor will also change the Static mode color accordingly.

    Note
    If you want to reset the Static mode color of your monitor, run Reset or Initialize from the monitor settings.
    Edit Static Hue : Select the Static mode you want to change using the drop box and choose a color, and then press Change to save the chosen color.
    Adding a check to the option Apply the Mode to the Monitor will immediately apply the Static mode to the monitor.
    By clicking the lighting control button, you can adjust the brightness of the LED lighting.

    Peaceful Mode: Slowly changes the color of the monitor lighting and gives a comfortable feel.

    Dynamic Mode: Provides a dynamic and joyful mood through a variety of colors and motions.

    Sound Sync Mode: Delivers various lighting effects accompanied by music and sound.

    By analyzing the sound from your PC, monitor lighting operates in the mode that fits the nature of the music.
    By distinguishing the sound coming from the left and the right sides, lighting effects will be displayed on the left and the right sides of the LED respectively.

    Available options may vary depending on the chosen mode.
    The LED effects of the Sound Sync Mode vary depending on the volume level set in the media player.
    If the app is closed or if the monitor and the PC are disconnected, then the Sync mode will be disabled and the previous LED lighting mode will be enabled automatically.
    Set Display Mode: Select how to represent the analyzed sound in the form of a Bar or a Sphere.
    Set LED Color: Select the color to be used in the monitor lighting.
    [Static] sets colors of the left and the right sides of the LED respectively.
    [Auto] changes the LED color automatically similarly to the Peaceful Mode.
    Set Frequency: When the Display Mode is set to Sphere, monitor lighting operates based on the frequency band (low/middle /high frequencies).

    Video Sync Mode: Analyzes the image on the display area of the monitor specified by the user and represents the result in the monitor lighting.

    Users may select one from the given aspect ratios, 21:9 and 16:9.

    If you are to play a game, the display should be set to the window mode or the full screen mode (window mode).
    LG’s UltraGear™ Control Center captures the screen that is displayed on the UltraGear™ monitor connected to your PC.
    Move the program window that you want to capture to the UltraGear™ monitor, and then enable the Video Sync Mode.
    Set the resolution of the game as the same as the optimal resolution of the UltraGear™ monitor.
    Aspect Ratio: Setting this will enable more exact video sync.
    Drop box provides available aspect ratios.

    Brightness of Lighting

    • Adjust: Pressing this button will allow you to adjust the brightness of monitor lighting using a slider.
    • On/Off: Clicking on this will turn on/off the monitor lighting.

    If the monitor lighting is off, turn on the lighting and adjust the brightness.
    In some LED lighting modes, lighting control is unavailable. Check the current lighting mode.

    The joystick button and the lighting button are located under the monitor.

    The On Screen Control program can be installed on the PC and it is provided for users to execute the main functions such as dividing up the screen, setting the monitor and so on in the PC environment.

    • In case the program is run while the LG monitor is not connected to your laptop
    • In case that the monitor connected to the desktop is not an LG product
    • In case of bad DDC/CI communication between the monitor and the PC (recommended to use the main monitor)
    • In case that the version of graphics driver is not latest
    • In case that PC communication is failed due to the bad cable (replace the cable)
    • In case of compatibility issues due to the use of gender changers
    How to download and install the On Screen Control program

    To install the latest version, go to the homepage and download [On Screen Control].

    (If the previous version is installed, then it will be automatically updated to the latest version afterward)

    Note

    When using the On Screen Control function on the monitor, if it says [No Monitor Connected], then it means that the mirror mode is not supported despite trying to set the display setting of your PC to mirror (duplicated).

    1. PC display setting for dual monitor configuration - In the PC display settings, set it to expanded monitor.
    2. Connect the cable in the product package to both the PC and the monitor one more time.
    3. If the same problem persists, then update the PC graphic card driver to the latest version.
    If you make a connection with a non standard cable or gender changer different from the cable in the product package, the On Screen Control program and the monitor fail to perform normal DDCCI communication, thus it might not be supported. So, we recommended you use the cable in the product package such as HDMI, display port that was provided when purchasing the product.

  4. Troubleshooting

    Does your graphics card of the PC support the 4K resolution?

    Check the specs of the graphics card for your PC.

    1. Right click on your desktop and select [Display Settings].

    3. Check [Advanced display settings] to see if the graphic card supports the 4K resolution (3840 x 2160).

    Check the PC and monitor ports and use a HDMI 2.0 or DP cable that supports 4K/60Hz when connecting the PC and the monitor.
