LG TV - Troubleshooting A Dark or Dim Screen

At a Glance

If your TV screen appears dark or dims automatically, this can be due to TV settings such as the selected picture mode, Energy Saver settings, or the AI Brightness function is enabled.

Try This

  1. 1 Press the [Settings] button on your TV remote.

    Is the TV settings menu visible?

    Yes No
  2. Great! Lets switch to a different Picture Mode.


    1 Select the [Gear Icon] then select [Picture].

    3 Select [Vivid].

    Did this correct the issue?

  3. The TV will require service for a proper diagnosis. Please visit our Request a Repair page for further assistance.

  4. Glad to hear. It. If the picture becomes dark or dimmed in the future, try switching the picture mode to see if the issue is continues.

  5. Lets perform an AV reset.


    1 Exit all internal apps and menus on the LG TV.

    2 Press the [Mute] button repeatedly on the LG remote until [Select a Menu Item] appears on screen.

    3 Select [AV Reset].

    Note

    Performing the AV reset will change all audio and video settings to the default settings out the box. ALL CUSTOM PICTURE AND SOUND SETTINGS WILL BE DELETED.
