Seeing a User Agreements screen on your LG TV? Your TV is working normally LG updated its Terms of Use, mainly the Arbitration Agreement.
The updated terms took effect on August 28, 2026. Your TV will prompt you to review and accept the updated User Agreements. Select Restart. Review the highlighted agreements and select the ones you want to accept. Select Agree.
The Terms of Use and Privacy Policy are required to use smart services such as Netflix and YouTube.
All other agreements are optional. You can review or change your selections at any time in User Agreements.
Why Is This Happening?
- Terms of Use update: LG updated its Terms of Use, with the main changes affecting the Arbitration Agreement. This agreement explains how disputes between you and LG are resolved. LG provided 30 days’ notice before the updated terms took effect on August 28, 2026.
- Consent requirement: Because the agreement changed significantly, LG is legally required to obtain your consent again. The notice appears only once and will not appear again after you respond.
You can accept or decline each agreement and change your selections at any time in the TV’s Settings menu.
You only need to accept the agreements required for the features you want to use.
How to Review and Accept the Updated User Agreements
Step 1. Turn On Your TV
- 1. A message appears, asking you to restart the TV to view the updated User Agreements.
- 2. Select Restart. If you do not select it, the TV restarts automatically after approximately two minutes.
Step 2. Open the Updated Terms and Conditions
- 1. After the TV restarts, a message explains that the Terms and Conditions have been updated.
- 2. Select Go to Terms and Conditions. If you do not select it, the User Agreements screen will appear automatically after approximately five seconds.
Step 3. Review and Select the Agreements
- 1. The User Agreements screen lists all agreements. Updated agreements are highlighted.
- 2. Select the checkboxes for the agreements you want to accept, and then select Agree.
- 3. The Terms of Use and Privacy Policy are required to use smart services. All other agreements are optional.
- 4. To decide later, select Back or Later. You can continue using regular TV features.
Step 4. Review the Required Agreements After Selecting Later
- 1. If you select Later, a smart service, such as Netflix or YouTube, will ask you to review the required agreements when you open the app.
- 2. Select the checkboxes for Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and then select Agree to use the smart service.
- 3. If you decline the required agreements, smart services will remain unavailable. The User Agreements screen appears again the next time you try to use a smart service.
- 4. To review or change your selections later, go to Settings > Privacy & Terms > User Agreements.
