LG TV - Connecting to a Home Theater System or Sound Bar with ARC : Audio Return Channel (Netcast)[Narrator]

The latest HDMI standard, HDMI 1.
4 so pause the audio return channel or ARC.
With ARC audio and video are delivered to the TV same as always.
But now in the age of smart TV, your television is the source.
And if you want to send the audio from streaming movies and videos out of the TV to the home theater system for premium sound experience, ARC makes it need an easy all over the same cable.
For this setup to work, both the TV and the connected audio device, such as a receiver, or an LG home theater system, or sound bar must both support ARC.
Only the first HDMI port on LG Smart TV, support ARC and should be marked.
You'll need a high speed HDMI cable which is sold separately.
Once you're wired up, press the Home button on your magic remote.
Then click setting in the launcher bar and navigate to the sound menu.
From here, navigate down to sound setting then press Enter.
The first option is for the ARC mode which arrives in the default off position.
Toggle left or right to switch to on.
While you're on this menu screen you might want to turn off the TV's internal speaker since you won't be using it.
Navigate down and toggle left or right to switch it to off.
Move down to the close button and press enter and you're done with the TV setup.
Press the X in the top right to leave the setup menus.
The external audio device is setup may also require the ARC feature to be enabled.
So check the manual for your receiver or home theater system.
And also switch to the correct audio input on the external device in order to receive the audio signal from the TV.
Keep in mind that the supported audio formats for the audio return channel are Dolby Digital and PCM but not DTS.
The volume will now be adjusted by the remote control for the external device or by the knob if there's one.
And now you have an audio setup that's as smart as your TV.
