What People Are Saying

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Small, handy but lint trap not easily accessible I've had the unit for less than a year and have already had to call service to clean out the internal lint that gets trapped, because it basically stopped drying the clothes. I was told by the service person that this is very common and that it seems to happen with this smaller washer/dryer combo but not so much with the bigger version.I can't emphasize enough how much this inconvenience (and cost) downgrades whatever features of the washer/dryer I am happy with. Unless I learn to open the top of the washer myself and unscrew some parts, and then clean out a bunch of trapped lint in the nooks and crannies of curved plastic parts, I will have to call service to come by about twice a year to do this for me so I can continue to use the dry function. Definitely disappointing. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with it. I was aware that drying loads would need to be about half the washing loads and that wasn't a problem for me because I hang clothes to dry and then finish drying them in the dryer the next day (in 2 loads per 1 washer load). But not having an accessible way to clean out lint that gets trapped and affects the drying function puts the number of inconveniences too high for me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst laundry machine I've used My landlord installed this new in my rental home right before I moved in. I've been living with it over four months now, and I can't think of a single positive thing to say about it. A load of two shirts, a pair of socks, and some socks and underwear takes 4+hours to wash and dry, and comes out so wrinkled it looks like you just dragged them out of the bottom of the hamper. The dryer runs so hot that even on low temp beware of shrinkage - yes, even on clothes that you have owned for years and washed and dried numerous times! I wouldn't even put my towels through this thing on normal heat settings. Even if you hang everything to dry so as not to completely destroy your clothes, expect everything to be extremely wrinkled, not even suitable for casual wear out to the grocery store. I am offended that LG even released this machine to the public. If you live in a NYC closet and don't mind washing your clothes one article at a time, and ironing your jeans to make them wearable, then I'm sure this thing will seem like a godsend. As for me, I'm on my way to the laundromat so that I can start looking like a grown man again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for NYC apartment I bought this to replace a Malber W/D combo that stopped working. This LG W/D combo is far superior, I am actually glad the Malber stopped working and couldn't be repaired. The LG version is very easy to use, the quality of wash is excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall amazing with one quirk We love our combo washer/dryer. It fit perfectly in the little nook when we remodeled the downstairs bathroom. Our main use for it is cloth/reusable diapers. Apart from sheets and blankets the drum is a great size for a single person or small family. Fabulous for starting a load for wash and dry before bed or work and it will be done when you wake up/get home. We utilize the child lock feature every time. Our only complaint is that the child lock feature does not work on the power button! Our 1.5 to is great at getting in the room and hitting the power button mid cycle. There is no way to turn it back on and have it pick up at the same cycle point. (Moral of our story: catch up to your child before they get to the buttons)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed My husband and I bought this almost two years ago and now I think it’s broken. Clothes doesn’t dry anymore. I was so disappointed. We don’t get a warranty on it thinking it would last for years without any issue.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from HORRIBLE This machine is so confusing. We have spent weeks reading through manuals and incorrectly displayed tutorials for this product. I cannot get someone out from LG because they have nobody near our area and I am located in a LARGE CITY? unbelievable. Product stinks, customer service stinks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great machine! Having purchased other LG products of which i have always been very happy with the quality and reliability of the products, I decided on this combo washer dryer and couldn’t be happier with the results. The features and ease of use with the highest satisfaction of the machine are remarkable. I would highly recommend this for others looking for a small machine that does it all with excellent results. Thank you LG.

Hello LG Team, Can this unit (or any others) be connected to a kitchen faucet with a conversion kit? If yes, does this come with a conversion kit? If not, where can I pick one up?

Is there a drain hose extension I can buy? If LG does not make it, what diameter size should it be? Thank you.

Asked by: Dave1313
Hi Dave1313. You will need to inquire about extension drain hoses that you can use to extend the drain hose on the LG 2.3 cu.ft. Compact All-In-One Washer/Dryer, Model # WM3488HS from Home Improvement stores like the Home Depot, LOWEs, etc., They usually carry kits that you can buy for this purpose. You may need to install a vent if the washing machine is more than 4 feet from the vent stack to ensure that the washing machine wil drain properly. You also need to be aware of the building codes where you live. All draining has to conform to your building codes. In some areas, you have to install a washing machine drain air vent in order to be legal, but in other areas, you don’t...^IFV

Are you SURE that this model supports a "dry only" option? The larger 4.3 unit has a separate "dry" button and this one does not. Previously asked the answer was Power, Dry, Start. There is no "dry" button on the smaller unit and the manual is no help.

Asked by: Fred Farkle
Hello Fred, per the model number you have supplied, WM3488HS, there is a button named "Dry" between "Spin Speed" and "Pre Wash". If you press the Power Button once, then the "Dry" Button to select the option (toggles between: LOW TEMP, DAMP, NORMAL, MORE or TIMED) and then press Start, the unit will Dry only. Is it possible with this unit to run a dry only cycle or do you have to repeat the wash/dry cycle all over again....sometime the clothes are still damp and I would like to RE-run the dryer phase...

Asked by: Dave n
To run just a dry cycle, press Power > Dry> Start. For the most even drying, make sure all articles in the clothes load are similar in material and thickness. Do not overload the washer by placing too many articles into the drum. Items must be able to tumble freely. If you open the door and remove the load before the washer has finished the DRY cycle, remember to press the START/ PAUSE button. The capacity of the machine for washing clothes is twice as much as when drying clothes. If the machine is to be used to dry a load, then the wash load must be reduced by half for effective drying performance. If a full load is washed, remove half the clothes prior to starting the dry cycle. For more information, please see your manual. ^AC
