            What is SD (Secure Digital) Card?

 

·        SD (Secure Digital) card is commonly called external memory and it is designed to store data. And used to provide more storage in addition to the embedded memory.

·        Recent SDHC cards are an upgraded version of the SD card. It has a capacity of 2 GB and more, Uses FAT32 (File Allocation Table 32) system, and can store data up to 32 GB. 

·        Transfer speed is classified into class 2, 4, 6, and 10. Class 2’s minimum speed is 2 MB/s. For class 10, the minimum speed is 10 MB/s,

 

Difference between SD card and SDHC card

·        SD card uses FAT 16 system and SDHC card uses FAT 32 system.

·        SD card cannot recognize files over 2GB, but SDHC can support files size over 2GB.

 

            How to use

 

1. It is recommended to initialize the SD card on the cell phone before the first use by formatting it.

How to format

Go to Setting > Storage > Unmount SD card > Format SD card

as the system for the SD card is stored, the space may not reach the maximum after the format.

 

 

2. Removing the SD card without unmounting it can cause data loss and system malfunction.

Please go to Setting > Storage to unmount the SD card first before disconnecting it.

 

 

            Symptom

 

·         SD card is not recognized.

 

            Cause

 

1.    Removing the SD card or turning the cell phone power off during use (data transfer between an external device and the phone, image saving, copying, deleting, formatting, or viewing).

2.    Removing the SD card without unmounting it can cause data loss and system malfunction.

3.    FAT File System can cause errors thus preventing the SD card from being read.

4.    Space in the external memory may be insufficient to slow down the program and recognition.

5.    Dust or foreign materials on the SD card connector also can be the reason for malfunction.

6.    Pin location and thickness may differ slightly by manufacturer, and may not be compatible.

 

                How to fix


1. Try reading the SD card with another cell phone or a SD card reader. If it is recognized, back up data to the PC and format the SD card. Try again on the cell phone.

 2.  When the symptom persists, upgrade your cell phone to the latest version. If no avail, please visit the nearest service center for technical assistance.
