How to Use LG ThinQ
■ Re-connecting product to Wi-Fi network after product registration failure
1. On which screen are you experiencing the problem? [Registration Failure Page] Router not connecting to Internet
* Customer : ThinQ app displays a router image with a message that says "No Network Connection".
- U se your smartphone to access the router and check your Internet connection.
(e.g., Launch web news portal to check Wi-Fi connection)
2. On which screen are you experiencing the problem?
* Customer : ThinQ app displays a router image with a message that says “Incorrect Router Password”.
- Access your router via smartphone to check for correct Wi-Fi password.
: When entering the password for product registration, click the “Show Password” checkbox to show hidden password. Lowercase or
uppercase letters must be entered as lowercase and uppercase respectively.
- There might be a chance that another smartphone user nearby have made the connection.
So turn off your product and try again.
: When registering a product, only 1 smartphone should be connected to Wi-Fi. If another smartphone is connected or have been connected
before, an incorrect password pop-up will show up even after entering the correct password.
3. On which screen are you experiencing the problem?
* Customer : ThinQ
app displays a router image with a message that says “Router Not Found“.
- If there are any special symbols on Wi-Fi name depending on the router type, network connection failure may occur. So ensure that
the router name consists of English letters and numbers.
* Router name(SSID) : combination of English letters and numbers (does not include Korean, Chinese, & special symbols)
(If the product registration failure persists, proceed to step 4)
4. Check step 1 ~ 3 and register your product on Smart ThinQ
(If the product registration failure persists, proceed to step 4)
- Use mobile tethering (use smartphone as hotspot) to register your product. (2 smartphones required)
- Use a smartphone to activate tethering (hotspot) to operate like a router. (mobile data allowance required)
- Use another smartphone to open SmartThinQ app, select tethering(hotspot) instead of your home router and then register your product.
- If product registration works, re-register your product via home router. (if product registration works via tethering (hotspot) but not through your home router,
skip to step 5.)
5. Try resetting your router or replace with a new router to register your product.
