What people are saying

Rated 3 out of 5 by from AC/Heat LG product I bought this unit almost two years ago. It started leaking water into the room. I cleaned the filter regularly due to it being in a dusty garage. Then it completely stopped running. I called a professional and he said the board was fried. I think that's pretty bad and since I bought it at Lowe's, the warranty is probably only good for a year. It worked great when it worked.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love it Its a cooling & heating unit that rotates. Can't wait to see what is does during the winter months. Hoping it can cut my gas bill down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Cool/Heat Window Unit; Great Value Purchased this LW1812HR air conditioner from our local Home Depot to replace a 15yr old unit located in our garage. Like many homeowners, the garage has become more a shop and storage area than a room for our cars. When we do woodworking, painting, staining, and polyurethaning having a moderate temperature and humidity is a must, so the Cooling AND Heating capability of this unit is fully utilized. This LW1812HR is super-quiet; you have to listen closely to hear the compressor kick in. It comes with a remote control which we will probably have no use for, but it is a nice plus feature. This is an Excellent Large window air conditioner.

How can I reduce the fan speed?

Unit is very noisy. Even the lowest fan speed option is still too high. There is practically no difference between F1 and F2. How can I further reduce fan speed?
Asked by: Mlace
We regret your dissatisfaction with the operations of this air conditioner. There is no lower fan setting than the Low speed of the F1 setting.

It is difficult to determine the cause of the failure of the heating element without an inspection by a qualified service technician. can you turn the energy saver on without remote control

I know how to turn on Energy Saver with remote can you turn it on from the control panel if so how.
Asked by: rewarren
There is no button on the control panel to turn on the Energy Saver. The Energy Saver feature can only be turned on with the remote control. If you have lost the remote, accessories can be obtained through our parts distributor, MCM Electronics. Their contact number, for placing orders, is 800-824-9491. You can also use their website, at http://www.mcmelectronics.com/content/en-US/forms/lg_parts. The part number for the remote is 6711A20034D.

installing window unit through the wall

Model # LW1812HR-why can't this window unit be installed in the wall? would it affect functionality?
Asked by: homedepot
It would effect the airflow. Window units are not designed to be installed through the wall. Thank you for your question.

Can I use the "energy Saver" function with the heat? Or how does that work? Does the heat just stay on with no option to cut off?

Asked by: daphnedaniellem
I apologize, but no; the Energy Saver function is not compatible with the HEAT mode. This feature works directly with the Compressor / Sealed System of the unit. Since the heating portion of this unit is an electric heating element, it will not be directly associated with Energy Saver mode.
