What People Are Saying

Rated 3 out of 5 by from AC/Heat LG product I bought this unit almost two years ago. It started leaking water into the room. I cleaned the filter regularly due to it being in a dusty garage. Then it completely stopped running. I called a professional and he said the board was fried. I think that's pretty bad and since I bought it at Lowe's, the warranty is probably only good for a year. It worked great when it worked.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 18,000 BTU works great cools well I have been running this unit for periods of up to 6 days straight in the 93+ temp with 85-90% humidity. The energy feature is great and works well. I have it cooling a space of 900 sq ft and it will maintain the set temperature of 73 just fine.

Why has my fan stopped blowing cool air?

After the unit runs and cools just fine for a few minutes, the unit stops blowing cool air. The unit is still running and the temperature gets lower on the display. When I turn the unit off the compressor continues to run. I unplug the unit from the wall and after a few minutes, the compressor finally shuts off. After leaving it unplugged for a few minutes, I plug it back in and it works fine for a little while and then it stops blowing cool air out again.
Asked by: TrinaMeredith
Hi TrinaMeredith, we regret to read that your LG 18,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner with remote, Model # LW1812ER may be operating erratically. When you set the desired temperature on the Air conditioner, it might take the Air Conditioner about 30 minutes for it to lower the temperature by 2°F and then another 30 minutes to drop another 2°F. If the Air Conditioner is underpowered, meaning if it is too small a unit for the room size, the compressor will keep running and the room never cools. These explanations may not apply to your Air Conditioner, but those are some causes for the Air Conditioner's compressor running as you have described. It may be that you may need to get a repair service on the Air Conditioner. Try setting the temperature at it's lowest setting and turn the fan to its highest setting and the air should be cold. If not, that would indicate the unit needs to be serviced...^IFV

How can I reduce the fan speed?

Unit is very noisy. Even the lowest fan speed option is still too high. There is practically no difference between F1 and F2. How can I further reduce fan speed?
Asked by: Mlace
We regret your dissatisfaction with the operations of this air conditioner. There is no lower fan setting than the Low speed of the F1 setting.
