What people are saying

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Convenient and powerful but not remarkable We bought this unit to help cool a back bedroom that has a vaulted ceiling and a couple of exterior walls that get a lot of sun in the afternoon. Because the thermostat is located in the front of the house, it doesn't register the realities of the back and so the built in A/C stays off even when it's sweltering back here. After setting up the unit (which did take some work since you need to hook up the exhaust to a window), we turned it on and immediately got some relief while sitting close to the unit (which was located next to my desk -- remote work!). The "Auto Swing" feature was appreciated from the get go, helping to move the cool air on and off my back and up into the room. For my use case, it's been great. That said, the room is a little over 300 sq. ft. and it takes a little time to feel the effects throughout the entire space -- but it does happen eventually! I'm very much looking forward to a summer that does not force me out of my bedroom.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality Overall it is good. It works better for a single room. I only use it for a.c purposes. I use it in my bigger living room and it does ok but works great in one small room. Good quality but it does tend to do funny things like shut off by itself or the blades close By themselves.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked good for 6 days I bought this LP0721WSR to replace our previous LG which had failed in under 3 years. We only ran it at night and it was cooling nicely in our 200 square foot bedroom. High fan was very loud and when the compressor cycled off, it decreased to a very low fan speed. On low fan setting it worked well for a few days then began shutting off and coming back on in a few minutes and continued on and off through the night until we turned it off so we could sleep.

Asked by: Eskra
All of our Portable Air Conditioners that are marketed and sold in the U.S. are designed for use in the U.S. and they have to be plugged into a standard, grounded 3-wire receptacle rated at 120V, 60Hz protected by a 15A time-delay fuse, or a 15A circuit breaker. Bought this unit today. When the compressor runs, the lights in my room dims. Is this normal?

Asked by: Abdul Wahid
If your lights flicker or dim whenever you turn on an appliance (e.g. a washing machine, vacuum cleaner, or microwave) then you're beginning to overload your circuit. Each home electrical circuit has a limit on just how much power it can draw. ... The lower current flow leads to dimmer lights in the room...^Ivan

Which portable A/C units do NOT require a dedicated circuit?

Asked by: jorie
All our Portable Air Conditioners require a dedicated circuit so they don't overload an existing room circuit because they can draw a significant amount of energy.
