What People Are Saying

Rated 4 out of 5 by 39 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent on all fronts. It has lots of features. It came with lots of software, some of it actually useful. And I got it at a great price. March 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Top notch Meets all my needs, Allows me to free up hard disc space by putting my data on a Blu Ray Disc. December 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent multifunctional burner The BH12LS38 is an excellent blu ray burner that also provides LightScribe support. I can burn cds, dvds and blu ray discs as well as LightScribe labels. Installation was easy as was updating of firmware thanks to the LG website. Drivers downloaded automatically. The included software although a few versions behind current retail is useable for most required operations. All in all a great multifunctional drive. October 26, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Drive I purchased this to upgrade my machine with the capability of playing blue ray, and because it was on sale at the time. I've had it for the last couple of years now, and I've had no issues with it so far. I've used several different types of software, and the drive hasn't glitched, paused, or even kicked out a bad disk. I've used all forms of media. If I had any issues it was software wise that I easily corrected. September 17, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great unit to add to a standard PC So far so good. I've just recently installed it, so not enough time to notice any faults. Also, I haven't checked 3D as the monitor I have is not ready for it. I did have to buy a graphics card to be able to use the blueray, so just make sure you add everthing up. The cord to connect to the power was a little short. I manage to connect it, but it is streched out. April 27, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Please step up a level or 4 Quirky - That is about it. It does ok and then sometimes it freezes and other time the remote won't work. I bought a couple of these on sale and I really should have spent a few more dollars and purchased quality. March 3, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Value, Good Performance Plugged in to replace a dead BDRom drive. Worked immediately, no changes needed. So far I've used it for playing BDs and DVDs 2-3 hours every evening for about a month. It's quiet, solid, and works great! January 10, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by i love it just what i needed for clearing out old data that needs to be saved February 9, 2013

LTH media support

Hello, on one of the questions for the burner BH12LS38 your answer was that this burner supported LTH media blurays with a 3rd party software. We tried LTH media with 2 of these burners and we also tried the software that you recommended. The results were bad, none of the discs would fully burn, and after the process the discs became useless. Is there any way you can forward this to the technical team in charge of firmware updates? we would like to have full LTH support on this brand new burner.

It is difficult to determine what might be causing this problem. It could be a disc incompatibility situation. We recommend using Sony or Panasonic BD-R discs, or Mitsubishi Kagaku Media, Maxell, Sony, or Panasonic BD-RE discs. If this is not the issue, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 for additional troubleshooting.
